My Hyper Cannon build
Someone asked me to share the capabilities of my hypertube cannon and im happy to do so.

I've read in the wiki that 17 cannons shoot you of the map. With this one you can at least reach almost every spot on the map or even shoot yourself of the map with only 12 or 13, depending on how and where you wanna fly, or how high your cannon is placed.

The second cannon you see needed another one on top to reach the platform, which i did just for fun. I can reach the base without the 13th "launcher". (Tube entrance sounds lame)

Key is basically add some launchers in an angle at the end of the tube. I could give you a closer look at the cannon or make a vid, but it's pretty self explanatory. Just use overclipping foundations to rech high enough and delet them later.

You can stop yourself pretty early to land in the Bauxite hills or end up way up north if you boost yourself with the jetpack at the beginning or boost every time you reach the falling state to fly like you would be a rock jumping over flat water.

I also use a zipline at the beginning, which does make a difference. I've tested that.
It can't be too steep tho, than it has no effect.

I've read some people just shoot themself up and glide where they wanna go and thats sounds pretty slow, which kinda negates the purpose of the cannon.

I found one vid with a cannon going this far, but it needs more lauchers and it's faster, so you might need adjusting it. At least thats how understood the guy.

Another video does not remotely go this far.

So sry if this is already well known, but a short search havent showed me another cannon with these launchers at the end.

Here you go.

Hah. Dont feel bad about it. I needed over 150 hours to find out that you can build 10 foundations in a row. XD

Also i found out pretty late that you can put splitters and pipe junctions directly on existing pipes / belts and stuff like that.

Hmmm.. That's news to me too. Makes building a tube network that's not attached to other infrastructure far more appealing. Though, to be fair, some new tricks have come with U8, like the ability to build splitters/mergers directly onto conveyor lifts. And many building tricks aren't communicated by the devs, it's up to players to find them (or if they are they're one-liners hidden in the thousands of hours of videos they've put out).

Zooping was only brought in in U7 I think (or was it U6?).. I was using Smart! mod before that (where they pilfered the idea). If Smart! still works in a similar way it used to, it's still substantially more advanced. E.g., zoop infinite in 2x axis, and auto fill belts when zooping logistics infrastructure.

Nicely put

IMO they have a strange communication focus. But I might be alone with that opinon.

Right on, the last hyper tube is 9 meters from the last hyper tube entrance, click and middle mouse 2 notches up. edit: oh yeah, after placing that, you have to delete the end to look like the screenshot or you will die.

I actually discovered the cannon effect (by accident) when noticing extra speed occurring after shooting out one tube and into another, I thought hmmm. Then looked in guides if anyone had tried this 5-13 fold. Aaaand of course, there was one guide! I was like damn, they beat me to it! But honestly i hadn't tried stacking them yet, it was something i was going to try later for fun. But after seeing the guide, it excited me into building right away and i was lmao. This was back in 2020 i believe. cheers players.

Good to hear! I am very happy with my curved as it doesn't look curved when looking AT it. But honestly? -- my next upgrade is my living room 4k 65 inch, because buying the wife an 8k oled tv. lol, i think i will have to step back a little after that.
