Try editing the the same file (Game.ini or engine.ini I don’t remember which it was) in the Windows folder instead of WindowsNoEditor

nope still doesnt work.
wiki said thats only for experimental version. i verified that nothing changed my steam settings and it doesnt use experimental.
still tried it though. having the lines in both files and then only in 1 at a time.

Yes.
The WindowsNoEditor folder is only for Experimental, the Windows subfolder is for the rest of us.

Engine.ini just has the paths and a few other settings. Game.ini just has some settings for Internet Bandwidth.

GameUserSettings.ini is what you want (in the Windows sub folder). Look for the settings starting with "mPlayerMappedKeys=" in this file. It might be best (easier?) to back up this file, just in case, and go into the game and reset all the keybinds and then change as needed (in game) for your play style.

The game developers have been moving stuff around over the past years. They have also neglected to remove the old files and settings in each file which have been deprecated. Which over the years has really messed up the 'ini' files for those of us who have played this game long before it moved to Steam from Epic.

Edit. I am also no longer on the Experimental Branch so that would explain why I don't have the WindowsNoEditor folder.

Have you remapped any keys? I think that line only shows if you have customized the keybinds.

Changing any keybind wrote the mPlayerMappedKeys in GameUserSettings.
Then (maybe only after restarting the game) the usual for update 8
[/script/engine.inputsettings]
ConsoleKeys=F6
finally worked.

BUT all this is in the FactoryGame\Saved\Config\Windows folder even though I DONT have experimental chosen in steam.
Even though the wiki suggests that the \Windows folder is ONLY for experimental.

FactoryGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor GameUserSettings is still missing mPlayerMappedKeys and I restored Input ini, so there was no ConsoleKeys in there before and after I restarted my game.

The Wiki is Wrong. (Edit: I believe.) What I said above is still correct. (Edit: I think.)

I opened a new issue on Satisfactory QA to get clarification about this:
