protection from Radiation

OK so moving into the Nuclear age in game and while at the moment I have been just testing things out long term what is the best way to protect from radiation as right now while testing I notice if I get even close to any of it I start hearing the ticking radiation sound.

I do have a working hazmat suit but that constantly requires filters to protect so looking how best to handle this to keep the damage/filter use down to a minimum.

I do have a cave near by that some have said helps but how much protection does it really offer? If I walled up the cave entrance except door and belt entrances/exits does this help is it worth the materials?

Whats the best solution to minimize radiation exposure at the various stages of the process?

I used drones in mine. Once set up you don't have to go near it again, as it is all automated. Best way I have found.

I would recommend to automate the filters. This will save you from any need to craft them yourself and you will be able to have a decent stack of them in your inventory at all times (e.g. I personally have nearly two stacks in my inventory of them).

But as for radiation protection: Distance and your hazmat suit. I also recommend to keep any amount of radioactive material in any production line as low as possible which means that manifolds will be a no-go for these at least with the radioactive stuff.
Walls won't do anything.

yeah I just unlocked those last night so have yet to had chance to set up and try them out but is in my plans for sure

They don't. But since you can have both the gas mask and the hazmat suit on at the same time you just need to have both filters in the inventory.
And since your filters against radiation are made from the filters against poison gas you can split off some of the ones for poison gas to be transfered directly into your storage system for you to use.

Nope. But if you need fabric, you can unlock an alt recipe for it in the MAM.
To produce fabric you then only need polymer resin and water.

No, use the alternate recipe 'Polyester Fabric' to craft the Fabric instead.

yeah I have it unlocked just have to figure out how to get my belts to bring it up from where I have it HA HA Guess I can just use the refinery I have to put it out but need to check see what I have HA HA
