Using Steam to emulate controller isn't as good because it doesn't have the UI interface for a controller, it says things like "Press F" instead of "Press A" for instance.
And the Mouse and Keyboard controls were unwieldy last I played because they have too many separate buttons for things that could just share a key.
where Q and E would be lean/peak, Z would be go Prone, B for binoculars you know like Battlefield 1942.
What Actions do you think can combined to a single button?
Not that the devs care. I feel bait and switched a little, when I bought this game I had seen play footage that showed controller prompts, then when I inquired about it I feel like I was given the run around about it.
But it was strongly suggested to me by some members of the community that Controller Support was coming and I just needed to wait, so I waited, and now I've waited too long to refund the game.
I have it in my spine. Being hunched over a mouse and keyboard for long hours is very painful for me, and my physical space doesn't allow the kind of set up I would need to play comfortably.
Now you're just making things up. There's no "required" posture for FPS games. Whatever posture you're using for a controller can be used with keyboard and mouse.
I wish, it causes me a lot of pain.
Maybe not with a laptop.
With a desktop setup you're basically anchored to a chair and have to be within reach of both mouse and keyboard. I can do this for intervals but doing it for hours really hurts me.
I can lay down using a controller, I can sit on a couch or in another chair, I can recline however I want.
I wouldn't be able to use a mouse and keyboard doing so.
ok, I can kinda see this, but there is a solution, that doesn't involve a Controller.
A Programmable One handed Keyboard and Trackball with lapdesk
This just might work for you.
I recommend the Razer Tartarus V2 and Logitech MX Ergo Wireless Trackball.
Technically with the right Lapdesk you could just get a 60% or 75% (like my Keychron K2) keyboard and Trackball could work too.
I know Trackballs aren't for everyone, but I love my MX Ergo.
Well, use an input mapper of your choice and have fun.
Meanwhile I continue to play the game with my controller using Steam Input. Works very well.
There's many different wireless control options, and chair and table surface configuration options available for the ergonomically challenged [Fenix has offered good suggestions]. Really, this ought to be explored better if you're an avid gamer intent on playing good PC games that typically need access to a lot of keys/buttons.
Ultimately though, no matter how much whinging is made because there was an expectation things would be different - it is EA. Anything and everything can be changed on the dev's whim if they choose to, and the purchaser acknowledges this when buying it.
With >5m copies sold, hypothetically, even if they completely change the game for v1, hugely breaking all factories (or even turn it into an action FPS like battlefield), causing a mass player revolt, they've already made bank with this one.
