So, I just found this cave next to my factory, when into it as everything became foggy, it's night ingame btw, and I get a message "you are so lucky to find this most valuable artifact", then I get attacked by some stringers, I run, and then I try come back to pick it up, and I get attacked and start running, I get stuck in some mushrooms, magically jump out, and start getting attacked, and while I run the computer says "why?"
D;
I RUN OUT, GET TO MY FACTORY AS FAST AS I CAN

AND THESE MF STRINGERS FOLLOWED ME
TO BASE
AND SOME RANDOM HOG WAS THERE, SO THEY START FIGHTING
I THINK I'M SAFE IN THE HUB BUT 3 STRINGERS RUN AT ME
AND I'M LIKE "BRO WTF IS THIS"
IN FACT EARLIER IN THE GAME I GOT SOME MESSAGE TELLING ME EARTH IS IN ALIEN CONTROL, AND EVERYONE IS SUPPOSED TO COLLECT ALIEN ARTIFACTS
AND ALSO
EVEN EARLIER
SOMETHING TOLD ME TO PRAISE "THE LORD"????
WTF LIKE BRO I'M JUST TRYNA MAKE A FACTORY TO UNLOCK SOME COAL POWER!
everytime I find WIP alien artifacts stuff like that happens

I came back into the cave in the day when there were no stringers, it was called a somerloop and I already had one, the ficsit computer goes haywire and wants you to pick it up whenever you see it, and it's just floating there. I'm not sure why it wants me to have it but I got it, and the description says it's oddly familiar with a mindbending shape..

Arachnophobia setting. Yes. It's funny though, they don't have as much legs as spiders have.

I think this setting should replace the Spider with an animated Bunny. I like bunnies. I don't like the still picture. An animated cat would be nice.

The cats are creepy AF too. They've put true arachnophobia mode under the Advanced Game Settings, for some weird reason. It completely removes the spiders.

You mean 'Stingers'? As for the 'Somersloop', you can disable the voice by disabling Ada's voice in the settings.

If you don't like things attacking you there is a 'Peaceful' mode.

I use a mod that is called "Real Arachnophobia Mode". It not only removes the spiders but also replaces them with spitters or hogs. Though currently it causes a flock of them to be there and they will be replaced the moment you defeat one of them.

But I agree, the spiders aren't integral to the game enough to be behind AGS. Otherwise the same would have to count for peacefull and retalliation mode for hostile creatures.

you can set all beasts to passive mode in settings if ya really want to.....
