One day I'll finish my update 6 save, and launch the pasta into the sky, one day.
Anticipated this reaction when I first saw phase 4 released in upgrade 4. Didn't bother me but I knew that many had never planned on that kind of scale because they never had to. Was just macaroni art and recess on the playground before that.
Find hard drives and find the recipes that work best for you.
You don't need tons of heat sinks, fused modular frames, radio control unit, turbo motor etc.
By the time you build faster than your factory can supply you are ready to upscale your factory.
I'm not a power player.... But still eventually managed to accomplish it.
Just let machines go,
Build more if you want to make it quicker, let it go as is if you have time... And time is at your advantage especially if you do other things like building other thing while existing factories are functioning.
Just make sure you have some kind of constant flow and it will complete eventually.
Now that I figured out how to have the Server running in the background, I can have the machines make resources while I do other things, irl, without the full client running
If you can, use Docker, makes setting those up super easy.
It is capable of running the factory without anyone logged into it.
My factory has been running for 4558:26:00 now :)

Go finish exploring the map. Hunt down the last hard drives you still need for recipes. Try some blueprints or more creative builds. Put together a more efficient transit system using trains, Power Towers, or cannons. By the time you're done with other things, the Space Elevator will be fully-loaded and ready for launch.
I feel your pain. By the time I got everything unlocked I didn't feel like creating huge factories to complete everything. What I ended up doing is creating a central facility with a few storage containers for each item. Then I used conveyors to bring everything there from all over the map and combined them into a couple lines. Then used smart splitters to separate each item into its designated container.
On the output side I made a conveyor for each item, stacked on top of each other. This thing was super tall. Then whenever I needed to create an top tier item I would just drop a manufacturer/constructor, etc. in front and add a splitter to each line for the parts I needed to create the specific item.
It was definitely NOT automated, but I was able to figure out how many of each item I needed and made and stored them. I had massive balance issues and I was constantly adding plastic here, screws there, etc.. My end parts took a long time to make since I was only dedication one or two machines, so there were several nights I just let it run overnight.
I didn't obsess over getting them done. I just would let it run then go and look for hard drives or slugs. After a couple (few?) weeks of creating the end game items I finally had enough to send to space. By that point I was already looking into using trains and optimizing everything. I deleted a huge portion of my world and started over with better recipes, and have started a main train line connected to these factories. This is going to be a huge undertaking, especially since I can't ever complete an area before I decide to make something else. I have like 2 dozen factories being built and I have 2 which I would call complete.
Burnt out? Heck yeah. I have quit playing for weeks on end, then decide to play again and bam, another 6 hours gone. I'll see some awesome mega factory that Imkibitz or TotalEclipse made, and I go and try it myself, only to not even come close to what they did.
However, I am getting better at it the more I do it.
Oh yeah, I still haven't even started mining uranium yet ;)
