Water Pipes Not Connection
Just bought the game and I am having an awful time w/ almost everything. Right now I am trying to connect water pipes from the floor to the ceiling above and into the coal generators on the 2nd floor. When I aim from 1st floor, using horizontal to vertical, to the 2nd floor to put in a pipe it goes in but when I get to the 2nd floor the pips is deformed. It is twisted in all kinds of directions. There is a hole for the pipe on the floor that I bought in the shop (sink). Why doesn't the pipe go into there and stop? Then when I get on the 2nd floor I can connect it from the floor thing (can't remember the name) into the coal generator? When I delete all the twisted parts it deletes everything below it on the 1st floor also. I have done this 3x from the top to bottom then reversed it. All the pipes are twisted and deformed on the 2nd floor. I can't make it connect. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?

You might try building it from the second floor from the first floor through the whole on the floor. I found its easier to direct them from the top. Or if it will let you, remove the floor. And put it on after installing the pipe if it will let you. Also you can use the scroll wheel to change the direction of the pipe. Thst might help keep it from twisting.

Thank you. I did try to build from the second as well but it just doesn't work. I can't delete the floor because it took me 5 hours over 3 days just to connect the splitter onto the conveyer lift . My lifts would not lift the coal up. I just got that working and I don't want to delete it after all those hours. It seems like things don't snap into place. But thank you.

I watched your video and you make it look easy. I was following a "What Darren Plays" video on Update 8; #3 & 4 on how to build a big coal generator building. It's been over 20 hours of work and they way it is designed the pipes don't flow like yours in you video. If you have seen his video he does it 10 seconds and it works. But when I do it it just doesn't. You would have to see his to understand because I is too hard for me to explain. LOL. Thank you for your advise.

Mine get wonky sometimes and a save then reload fixes things.

Pipes seem to work best when you go top down. or at least they do for me. So for coal, I hook up the coal generator to the hole first, that way when I am hooking up below, it doesn't try and attach to the top connection. Also if its all twisted it sounds like you have it set at something noodle or some other setting. I have never seen it do that on horizontal to vertical setting.

If things aren't snapping well maybe try pressing ctrl.

Thank you. That worked! I got my pipes normal looking finally. Now I just got to get the pumps to work.

if one side connects badly, try to get the next segment built first so there is only one allignment point left to use.

I find that if I want to go up/down with pipes, I need to use a pipeline cross and rotate it vertical. Best to put one on each end, then connect them with the pipes.

If you're having trouble connecting pipeline crosses or pumps to existing pipelines, you have to delete/deconstruct the pipeline support at the end. Then it will connect properly.

There is a weird mechanic with pipeline supports I haven't figured out yet. After the first click they can be rotated horizontally like conveyor belts- but they can also be rotated vertically. Haven't figured out or looked that up yet.

Pipes? I go either way and it works for me. Unless they screwed pipes up in the last patch or 2 they should work fine.

don't place stuff on existing pipes to prevent bugged connections.
