Can't look up-down left-right / turn around .... only move foreward/ back left/ right
Just bought and installed the game for the first time through Steam.

Got through the intro screen, landed, got out. Everything looking good..... but I cannot look up or down, left or right ( I can not turn into another direction) . I can only move left/ right or foreward or backward (keyboard W-S-A-D). The mouse works in the menu's but not in the gamescreen itself so it seems.

Ofc. this is unplayable. I tried to verify the steam files, all was all right. I unplugged a gamecontroller and restarted. No effect. I run the game as administrator since that is sometimes a bug ..... no effect. Tried to disable the steam overlay/ controller and other options in there for screen resolution etc.... all no effect. Put in a wired mouse instead of the wireless and rebooted... same problem.

Not sure if it helps but I give a quick system spec . 240Hz Monitor. 1440 P spec. setup.

I5 13600KF RTX 4070Ti all up to date drivers and standard the game goes to ultra settings etc.

Any one know a possible solution to this problem and/ or is it a known problem or perhaps a new one since update 8 ? Tnx in advance.

Can't say I have ever heard of this issue before. Normally I would say its a controller issue but you checked on that. Can you get proper movement out of the controller itself, I assume you are trying to play on kb/mouse. Do you have a joystick/hotas plugged in possibly? Those count as controllers a lot of times too. Lastly do you have any software that emulates controllers? I know I needed one to play old PS1 games through an emulator.

I can't remember if there are options in game for controllers but if there are maybe there is something there to check. I doubt I helped but hopefully I did. Good luck on fixing this.

Sounds like you have an inventory or build window open, but can't see it, so the mouse is moving around in your inventory or build menu instead, and only the movement keys are working.

Do you have the opacity of the HUD set to 0% or something?

OBXandos, tnx for your reaction. The controller itself does not work and indeed I was trying to play on kb/ mouse. No other joystick etc. plugged in. Good point from that emulate controller software but that's not installed either. I appriciate your solutions though, thank you for offering the suggestions. I hope that it get fixed indeed, then I will post it for others who might run into the same problem.

Spocks Toupee, tnx for the suggestions. I can open all options menu's , Tab etc and then I can move the orange cursor all around my screen with no problems or limit within a box or so..

I have not messed around with the standard options the game uses yet (but I am intend to do so trying to solve the problem) . The Upscaling Method it chooses is the standard Nvidia DLSS. The Hub Scaling it chooses is 1 and I have not changed a thing or percentage.

I definitely gonna change some standard values in the options menu, trying to leave out DLSS upscaling technic since my card not really need that in current games for smooth running with high framerates/ fps. But I thought before messing around that it perhaps was a known issue which might had an easy fix. Appriciate your comments though, thank you.

Only thing I could thin of, maybe you are in Borderless, not in Full Window, mode. It may happen that the focus is not on the window then

UPDATE...

User interface > Hud scaling changes.... no effect/ solution to the problem.
Background opacity changes..... no effect.

Video > Upscaling DLSS off..... no effect / solution to the problem
1260x1024 instead of 1440p.... no effect.
fps capped at 60.... no effect
Ultra settings to high settings... no effect.

Yeh and if I use the option try Vulcan instead of DX12..... then I even got a bigger problem... the whole game WON"T BOOT and it freezes my whole screen and acces to my computer. I have to "end task" the whole game to even get acces to my computer again.

So now I cannot even get acces to the game to reset it back to DX12.....

Perhaps some extra info about my screen... its a 27 inch QLED CURVED screen from Samsung..... any one knows if that might be the cause of the original problem of not getting to turn etc ?

And any one knows how to acces the game again to reset it to DX12.... or must I reinstall it again ? But that still leaves me with the original problem hehe.

Thank you for your reaction. I tried that also just before the vulcan option crashed my pc error hehe. The interesting problem is > Standard the game chooses Widowed full screen.... but it shows regulary full screen. Then choosing the option full screen or window mode made no difference at all it still showed full screen only......

But indeed there might be the problem or the answer to my problem for the developers to look at perhaps ?

Right CLick on the Game in the Steam CLient----->Properties----->GENERAL------> Launch Options put:

-DX12

Close that window and start the game

Ty Spocks Toupee.

I tried that sollution. The game wants to boot again and the screen does not freeze or block my pc any more indeed. But.... i get the message which roughly says > (translated from Dutch) something went wrong, we close the game..... and then it goes back to the steam client. Rebooted, retried, same result.

Very dis satisfactory so far haha. But I know that's part of the proces with an early acces game henche the price so I will have patience and perhaps it get's solved in the future.

Thank you all so far for your solutions and trying to help !
