Which file to edit to re-enable dx12?

My video option was changed to run the game using dx11...this causes the game to crash to desktop immediately after pressing play. I can force the game to run via dx12 by using a launch option, but would like to change the game option so as to not have to use the launch option.

When the game has been launched using the dx12 launch option, when I go to video options menu the toggle for choosing dx11, dx12, etc. has red-text indicating "dx12 forced" and is frozen, ie i cannot change it.

Which configuration file can I edit with notepad to fix this issue?

Make a Shortcut to the game EXE then edit the target inside the shortcut properties with -DX12
Should look like this:
D:\Installpath\FactoryGame.exe -DX12
