Assembler is not working
So I tried to make a assembler that would make rotors. That's 5 iron bars and 25 screws (if I remember correctly) but it won't accept the screws. They simply stop just they reach the assembler. What am I doing wrong?

Rotors take Iron Rods and Screws. Make sure the belt is actually connected to the machine, that the machine is powered, and that the proper recipe is selected.

Did all of that, still not working.

First double check the recipe, second dissemble the the belt going to the assembler and remake it. I have had it hang up before and this usually solves it.

I finally got it working. I had to take everything down and start over. That was a pain in the a$$.

NEW PROBLEM!!

Now the machine the makes the screws won't work.

What the hell is up this this game??

Hard to say. All I can say is 99% of the time a user has a problem, the user is the problem. Double check everything to make sure you set it all up right.

If a machine is not producing, it is generally one of three things:
1) It doesn't have power. Hook it up to your grid.
2) It doesn't have a recipe set. Set a recipe.
3) The input port for the machine is blocked by a resource the current recipe does not need(which may or may not be visible on the belt). Disassemble the input belt and reattach to remove the offending resource.

Again, I had to take out the machine and rebuild it then it finally worked. I hope this bug gets fixed soon.

How should a developer fix layer 8?

like it was allready said sometimes when a wrong resource (iron bars instead of iron rods pollute the belt the machine wont accept these they stay outside on the belt but you wont be able to take the first resource right in front of the machine from the belt and you wont see it so that might be the most likely cause as its allready no longer visible but still oustide blocking the belt

I guarantee this isn't a bug, and that the problem is between the monitor and the chair.

*rebuilding belts work*
It's definately a polluted belt. You have a weird splitter/merger situation somewhere most likely.
Vectorspace Dec 23, 2023 @ 11:57pm
Splitters and mergers have a hidden internal inventory that can hold 1 or 2 items, and those items are not always first out. So a splitter or merger on a polluted belt can hold an incorrect item for an unspecified amount of time, and gunk up the works unexpectedly.
Whispdragoon62 Dec 26, 2023 @ 2:21pm
If you change the recipe it automatically kicks the inventory out of the machine and back into your character inventory. This is actually useful to quickly pickup items off a conveyor feeding into a semi-automated production line.
