New mechanic idea to replace existing item.
So the item in question is the god awful and worthless blueprint designer. So please remove the blueprint designer and instead go with a copy and paste approach where the player creates once the item they want to make a blueprint of, then they select everything and then hit control C and a popup window would open with all the options needed to create a blueprint.

So a good option to keep from slowing the game or worst crashing it would be to set a 50 piece select max. This would be alot more then can be placed in the current 4x4 space of there existing blueprint designer.

To be hones the lack of a copy and paste system at all and the worthlessness of the current blueprint designer (at lest for me and the times I needed it and couldn't use it.) has been the 1 thing that's pulled me out of the game after unlocking tier 8 cause when I think about the mega factories that I need/want to build and knowing that I'm going to have to place alot of it 1 piece at a time just says in my mind nope, I'm done, and so I don't even want to play the endgame anymore just because I know I'll be grinding away the whole-thing and for me at-least that's not fun.

For now I'll leave it at this as I don't want to turn a mechanic suggestion into a rant about the game.

Also I'm sure this would be something alot of people would like to see as it would appear as though the mod Blueprint Designer Plus is a very popular mod and for good reason.....players want bigger blueprints to lesson the grind.

Anyway enough lol. would love to hear from the fans there thoughts on this topic and how you feel about the current blueprint system good or bad. Just please keep it clean and respectful. :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:

I see no need for the machine at all. I'm past 8 and working on phase 4 and have yet to use it. In fact I actually dismantled it. I truely don't need it or understand the use of having it. Even after watching tutorials for it.

The existing blueprint size is great for repetitive transportation and cosmetic needs, but it really shouldn't be for duplicating entire productions or factories. The system is the way it is to avoid drastically shortening the hours you can get out of the game. So much of your in-game time is centered around having to build things yourself, and a larger blueprinting system, or a straight up copy and paste, would take away from that. Mods are where these options should stay.

You think the blueprint designer is worthless and too small, but somehow think that 50 items for copy and paste would be reasonable?
16 floor tiles, 32 wall pieces, 16 roof tiles, 8 smelters, 4 splitters, 7 mergers, 27 segments of conveyor, 12 segments of cable, 4 ceiling outlets, 1 double sided wall outlet.
That, off the top of my head fills up half the blueprint designer for a simple smelter build. That's 127 items.

It's a sandbox. So what do you mean shorten the hours you get out of it? I'll tell you what shortens the hours you get out of it, not playing at all cause it's TOO MUCH! of a grind.

Yeah your right. alot of small items can fit in that space. bet hell, you can't even place some of the base game items in there like off the top of my head the coal generator wont fit. you can't do track segments cause turns can only be done after a straight section of track is placed. so everytime I've needed the blueprint designer I couldn't use it cause a 4x4 space just isn't big enough.

Then maybe the game is not your cup of tea. I sense much hospitality from you and your responses. Didn't you say keep it clean and respectful?? :cozyteddymoo:

So 1 feature makes the entire game not my cup of tea lol. That's funny. and by keep it clean and respectful I mean no putting down me or other's or cussing. I don't see how you feel my replies don't follow what I said lol.

Let's see your the one that said the grind was a no Bruno for you. So doesn't sound like your kind of game. Plain and simple. Using your own words.
Jimmy Dec 23, 2023 @ 3:37pm
There's a reason for the blueprint designer in its current state and size. It is elaborately explained by the developer in several videos. With that said: If it is too small for your needs, go on and pick a mod of your choice to make it bigger. If the whole concept of a dedicated area for developing the blueprint isn't yours also - go get a mod of your choice that fits your needs.

You guys need to understand: Coffee Stain is developing a game. Not for you in particular but for them and all of the players who bought it early, to fulfill the vision of the game they had a decade ago. Is user input valid and desired? Yes. Will it change the way the game is progressing? No. If the input matches the vision, they're willing to implement it. As long as it doesn't shift the game from the game they want to develop. That's also the reason, why there will be no renewable energy sources like wind, water and solar. It just doesn't fit the premise of their game. If you want something like this - they're very much not opposed to you modding the game to fit your needs.

Yes your right, I did say that. I will also say this. I stopped playing the game from 4 to 5 hours a day to logging in trying to get back into it and logging right back out after the grind part sets in. All this happened for me after I unlocked tier 8. So again given how little I play now I agree with you, the games not for me, but that doesn't mean i'm going to just walk away from it and give up, no, no. I'll make suggestions and give my input and experience and what-not to try to fix my issue and maybe others that feel the same way i don't know.

From what I'm getting from you is if someone has a problem with a game, that they should just uninstall it and never play it again even though they spent good money on it. I would bet that if you ever have a problem with a game that you didn't just keep quiet about it and stop playing it.

So please don't suggest that other's be silent and just throw there money away cause I or others are having a problem with a mechanic or feature in a game I/they paid for and so I'd like to share my problems/suggestions with the devs.

I don't really know what to say to close this so I'll just leave it at this for now.

Hi. I just started playing the game like a month or so ago, so these video's I haven't seen before. if you can link in a reply, would you please? so I can watch it, or tell me the video's title and I'll look for it.

The Coffe Stain Studios Youtube channel is a very well managed and popular place to be. Coffee Stain Studios in particular is one of the few developers who frequently publish videos about the challenges in development, the state of development and what to expect and what not. Snutt (and formerly Jace) along with some other members of the development team frequently answer questions, show your builds and give a little bit of insight of the development progress of the game.

You can find the channel under:
https://www.youtube.com/@CoffeeStainStudios

The video you're asking in particular is this, at minute 3:20 :

EDIT: HEY SNUTT - DOES THIS MAKE ME A COMMUNITY MANAGER AS WELL?

Thank you very much. I'll watch it right now.

Edit. OK. That was an interesting watch. It did shed alot of light on how blueprints are meant to be used.
