Request: merge offline and online player profiles

When joining the same map with network connection active or unavailable, you end up having two separate chars with differents slots, different inventory etc.
It would be nice if this was not the case or you would have the option to merge those two chars.

That would be impossible as the servers need to identify you to give to access to the game. So I don't believe this will ever happen.

Both profiles are handled locally. One is synced to the cloud. What technical reasons are making this impossible in your opinion?

Because you are actually playing the game via thier servers. No servers the game dosen't work. Like yesterday they were down. No one could play. Alot of games are like this now. Even single player must have online connection. So you are incorrect that the are handled locally. This is my understanding of it. If I'm wrong, please someone explain it...

I think it's a design problem. Though it is correct, that even single player is technically "online". I think the player character and data should be stored at one location, not needing to be "synched". I am not sure WTH they are doing that needs to do that. Maybe it's a Unreal Engine thing.

IDK either, but alot of games these days are like this. You have to sync with a server to play single player. It is annoying for those wanting offline play.
