How about a new game where you don't have to get all the hard drives again if you have already? Just a check on how many you have collected with your most collected save and allow people to start with that many and remember which ones have already been opened

Yes. On that note. I also wouldnt mind a way to start at any previously reached milestone. I am about to send up the last space elevator load and am ready to start a new file for upd8. Starting with all the things would be nice cause Im planning to go bigger and better than ever but a new file is going to require lots of deleting and rebuilding. I dont see the problem with being able to start at any previously reached milestones.

And yes, a creative/sandbox mode is most likely coming on or after 1.0.

not creative/sandbox. I still want the survival aspects and everything to be the same. Just not the hard drive progress

The map editor has the ability to unlock all Alt recipes which is what the hard drives provide without unlocking anything else.

gotta get the exact amount right in inventory, luckily the map already has them cleared for the ones i have found 93/97 or something like that.

I had the same thought, and used the savegame editor to give me all the hard-drives, I still had to research them, but it was much easier.
