FSR3 support
With the announcement of FSR 3 this fall is there any chance of that being in Update 8?

Im not sure when Update 8 is coming out of experimental yet and i know the devs said FSR would come to the game later
I just assumed it would release in the fall along with FSR

I also know AMD said FSR 3 would be included at a driver level too so in the end it doesnt matter lmao

Luckily us AMD people dont need FSR in the game to use it. Its a built in feature with the Adrenalin software. Enable the Radeon Super Resolution in your Adrenalin software and it will let you set your resolution lower in game. The software then scales it up to your monitors native refresh rate, although it will only scale one resolution up, it still helps alot.

Not FSR 3 will be included at a driver level, the FMF algorithm will. FMF is part of FSR3, but it's not the same. FMF is also only supported by RX 7000 graphics or APUs that use RDNA3 based GPUs. Same goes for HYPR RX.

FSR3 => all GPUs (will be released this fall together with Forspoken DLC / Immortal)
FMF => RX 7000 (no release date announced yet)
HYPR RX => RX 7000 (will be released September 6, 2023)

Also, Radeon Super Resoulution is NOT FSR. FSR 1 and RSR use the same upscaling algorithm, but in a different way. FSR needs to be implemented by the developers of a game.

I only partially watched the gamescom event and i followed up with articles such as this one
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-fidelityfx-super-resolution-3-fsr3-is-coming-soon-to-forspoken-and-immortals-of-aveum

But from what it sounds like FMF will be compatible with more than just RDNA3 GPUS
And in the event they mentioned FSR3 being driver level compatible

As for HYPR RX im not entirely sure and i dont really plan on using it either

Again, FMF and FSR 3 are not the same. FMF is part of FSR3. FSR3 need´s to be baked into a specific game to work - it's not at a driver level. This will support all GPUs. But AMD also wants to use the FMF algorithm at driver level, to boost DX11/DX12 games. This solution is only supported by RX 7000 and APUs with RDNA3.

FSR3 + FMF will work on older GPUs if it's baked into a game by the game devs.
But the FMF algorithm alone at a driver level will only work with RX 7000 graphics and will be released at a later date.

I'm pretty sure the devs aren't implementing any of the upscaling methods manually, they're using them as they are built in to Unreal Engine. So unless it's out before UE5.3 comes out of Preview (or even if it is, honestly), I doubt it'll be included in Unreal before 5.4. And we won't know if the devs will even upgrade to 5.3 before releasing Update 8.

There will be a Plug-In for UE5 for FSR3.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing Can still hope though

I read that FSR 3 will only be compatible with AMD graphics that use RDNA (PS5 and Series included) and in the case of Nvidia only with RTX. I don't know if they mean that it will only work on those GPUs or only the FMF.

EDIT: Confirmed, FSR 3/FMF only for AMD RDNA 2/3, Nvidia RTX and Intel ARC.

From what I read its going to be available for 7000 and 6000 series amd cards Possible some 5000 series and some of the rtx models.
