New dev video - Blueprinter changes coming in Update 8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDN_b6TX5gg

No, they are not changing the size.
No, there will not be any changes to snapping behaviour - they already released a bunch of tweaks to this during update 7.

They hope the improvements to blueprinting will alleviate any issues that prompted people to ask for the above, and so they want fresh feedback after U8 (existing tickets on the QA site may be closed as a result).

Quickswitch enabled for blueprints - tap/hold E to cycle blueprints in current category.

Blueprints now have an arrow pointing in the "forward" direction (towards the blueprinter console) to help with getting the direction right.

Nudge mode - H to lock building hologram in place so you can move around it, 2nd click to commit the build. Arrow keys can nudge the blueprint in 1m increments while locked. Optional. Applies to everything, not just blueprints. There is a max nudge distance - 50% of blueprint size, but with an 8m minimum.

Blueprint dismantle mode - when in F dismantle mode, press R to toggle dismantle mode, and when you select a building that was part of sa blueprint the entire blueprint is selected.

Nice features for me but not so relevant as I hardly ever use the Blueprint Designer.

The nudge function is going to be super useful.

Those sound like welcome quality of life improvements to the blueprint designer.
However, I haven't been using it much yet as I see only a limited utility for it so far.

Then trust us when we say they are a really huge deal and worth a bit of celebration.

Good news, now make it 10 times the current size and we'll talk again

Told ya, they aren't making them bigger. Even if their reasoning for it was completely proven wrong by mods, we aren't making them bigger darn it!

Not sure why, if it's something as stupid as pride or if they are just that stubborn in their ideas and refuse to hear any different opinions, but this is not the first time it has happened. And I did tell people this will happen again, it's Coffee Stain's MO at this point.

There is mods for that. Personally I just like to see them taller because some buildings cant even go in the blueprints at their current height limit. I think the last time I tried a coal generator wouldnt fit for instance..or maybe it was something else.
as for length and width I think 4x4 foundations is ok...might be included to get 5x5 foundations though. if I wanted larger I would install the mod but for me the current 4x4 is not so bad.

Coal gens and refiners both fit but not with raised floors.

Personally I don't think there's any need for a larger blueprinter, it'd just make them impossible to place, it's hard enough already.

With the new alignment tools there's no reason not to make things in sections.and join them up, so a big one isn't needed.

maybe that was what I had trouble with. fitting them in while on foundations
in any case I havent really messed with coal blueprints since last November. but it was the first blueprint I tried to mess with when update 7 hit experimental
