Arachnophobia mode
Can we get like an ACTUAL arachnophobia mode that's NOT annoying af? the cat pics and meowing were funny in the beginning, but after a while it just gets really annoying.

I can't remember the name of the game but the arachnophobia mode in it turned the spiders into fluffy clouds. VERY dangerous fluffy clouds.

That's hilarious. Personally I kinda want something like what grounded has where each level would take away a certain aspect and make them sound less spider like. For me specifically though it's the way they move and the skittering they make when they move around. The meowing is just super annoying.

It's funny though how things like that bother me in this yet face huggers in alien i'm perfectly okay with.

what sort thing would you think best instead of the cats?
there is a mod that replaces them with snutt and jayce along with quotes from them for sound effects

honestly? not even something that necessarily replaces them with something but change up the sound they make and maybe mess with their design some. Kinda remove the spider look and feel to them. I dont feel like that's an unrealistic thing to ask for.

You need their organs for things in game so you can't remove them from the game, but you can make them a bit less spider-like.

That's it mate. It's grounded. I haven't played it since its full release but early access the spiders where 2 round white blobs floating like clouds.

There is a true Arachnophobia mode mod. I use it and I can highly recommend it if you hate the spiders and the in-game Arachnophobia mode as it completely removes the spiders.

the cats are in fact less spiderlike
there are alot of ways to solve this...they just chose cats that are owned by two developers.
for people with arachnophobia just changing the sound and design slightly is not enough. if it has any resemblance to a spider then its not a good thing. one of the developers on the team has arachnophobia so I suspect they approved it as good enough to settle their fear when working on the game.

I really wonder who here has arachnophobia and what exactly they might prefer to see.

thats like level 5 arachniphobia mode. Each level of their mode takes something away that makes them less spider like including sounds. Starts off with remvoing 4 legs, removing all legs, messing with the face and removing the fangs, messing with their color, and finally removing everything

I DO have arachnophobia and I just told you what I would like too see based off of my experiences.......

well it seems someone else with acrophobia needed more then what you needed
maybe they can add different levels of this mode.

best thing I can suggest is to make a feature suggestion on the satisfactory web site and offer some better solutions...maybe you and the dev who also has arachnophobia can work out something together.

as for me and 90% of everyone else here we are really not qualified nor can we help you. but you should talk to the dev directly who approved this feature and see if there is a better way

The current mode doesn't even remove the scary parts.
It replaces its head with a JPEG image of a cat. The body is still there.
It is unacceptable.
I also disliked how the larger, much tougher spider enemies had the same sized image for arachnophobia mode. You couldn't tell which ones were one whackers and which were dangerous.

You can disable from advanced game settings.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
