Why isnt there a programmable/smart merger?
Why isnt there a programmable/smart merger?

e.g. in my Aluminium plant I want to first use all my locally produced silica, then only take extra from the train when I've used all the local silica. AFAIK u cant do that as there is no programmable merger.

oh wow, ok so its possible then. Watched the video and it shows you how to build this great big thing that apparently works but I dont know why it would work. In the video he even says 'i honestly cant tell you how this works'.... hmmmm so interesting but .. how can that work?

I dont have much use for priority mergers in most cases but he one time I wanted to use one I found industrial containers can be ricked into being one because of the affinity off outputs to prioritize the opposite inputs in a diagonal fashion

Prior to the addition of smart splitters to the game, setups like the one linked in the video were the only way to build overflow splitters. Basically, only 1 in 243 will be pulled from the non-prioritized line when the prioritized line is producing.

I do the overflow splitters before I get smart splitters probably the same way the guy in the video says (didnt watch it) by putting a series of splitters below a series of mergers connected with lifts all the way down...usually I do 5 or 6 or so. it works really well as al ow tech overflow smart splitter.
