I had to switch to mouse and keyboard which was really hard for me and after 2300 hours of play I still have problems where I regularly get lost.
And believe me I play for years almost only with controller on the PC only exceptions are such games like Path of Exile and Anno games I play even shooter only with controller.

The topic of controller support and why it will never work well in Satisfactory has been talked about ad nauseam on those forums as well. And no, it won't work here just because it works in some random other game, that's not how things work.
I am not going to write another multi-paragraph post explaining everything in ridiculous detail to people who do not understand the simple version, so feel free to search the forum for those. The TL/DR is: no, it will not work well. Even devs are smart enough to realize that there are some challenges that would be impossible to overcome for that device. So obviously they don't prioritize working on it. End of story.
And reasons why this game would not work well on the Switch should be incredibly obvious to anybody who own that device and knows what it can and cannot do well.
So yes, of course Satisfactory could be ported to switch if the desire was there. The interface design challenges are fairly easily solvable and usually the backend challenges in things like that are just a matter of effort (i.e. time, i.e. money).
The question is whether the effort would be financially worth it. That will depend on how much the game costs to get to 1.0 and how successful it is on full release.
No Man’s Sky, while a superficially more diverse game, is significantly less demanding on the CPU than Satisfactory. It was also developed with console/controller support at the forefront, releasing on PlayStation and Windows on the same day. Satisfactory has not been developed with console in mind, and controller support itself was pushed away over a year ago.
As DaBa and many others have stated: just because Game A is capable of something doesn’t mean Game B is capable of the same.
Anyway, I know what you mean, with belts etc it uses a lot of processor (as does mass spaceship battles in NMS by the way) but Satisfactory runs on really low spec machines right now, on an inefficient platform like windows, so it can't be that bad.
