There are currently no plans for any release on console or Linux/Mac. We might do it in the future.

well considering the DEVS have said numerous times this is a keyboard/mouse only game... and they will explore game pad support once the game goes V1.0, don't lose sleep over it as it might happen... next year, maybe...

My friends switch blade went off in his pocket once in the 70's; if that helps.

Who needs switch when you have steam deck?
Anyway I would have thought their tasklist is something like:
- finish v1.0 (2024)
- PS and Xbox (2025-6)
- Switch (far side of never)

For consoles, and then switch, it'll need to progressively use screen real estate a lot better and refine/ rework the controls. It'll be a lot of work as it would have a long way to go. Also, to do it well, much of the building mechanics would need to change too. If the game is successful I reckon they will though, but who knows at this point.

Further thoughts ... I might be totally wrong actually. They're just shifting to a totally new engine, and I wonder if it handles porting and scaling better. If so, it could mean console ports coming fairly quickly after 1.0.

Knowing how huge tencent is in mobile, I'd be surprised actually if the new unreal engine doesn't easily port to other platforms.

Possibly after the 1.0 version is a console implementation of Switch I have not heard anything yet also the console version is not 100% yet

Don't make me laugh. I do support this game going out to consoles, but the Switch? Yea sure if you like 15fps or less. My point being, Switch couldn't handle this game, not even the main menu lol

My understanding is that there was no intention of bringing the game to consoles because they didn't have the processing power.

The Switch has the processing power of a can of lukewarm soda

Soda, regardless of temperature, has decent processing power, at least as far as acids are concerned. However, warmer temperature actually decreases pH level, meaning a lukewarm soda would have greater processing power than a cold one.

The more you know.

Just to point out, Switch has a streaming option for more demanding games.

That of course still doesn't change the fact that they don't even officially support controllers, which is something else they'd have to do before considering porting to any consoles.

Okay, but HOW TF do you even support controller in a game like this? The devs would have to completely revamp every single menu. Because currently the menus are all designed explicitly for KBM.

Good discussion. A lot of you made a lot of good points.

Does anyone have it on their Steam Deck? If so, how does it run? I REALLY want to play a portable version of this.

Tbh, a Switch release very likely won't happen within the lifetime of the console. The Switch is already 6 years old and even though Nintendo stated that due to the sales of the console it will have a longer lifespan than previous consoles (with some notable exceptions), I'm pretty sure a new and more powerfull console will come at some point in the following years. So I would not bet on any release for the Nintendo Switch. Its successor, maybe.

You can do it like other games that require some keyboard input: Have a keyboard pop up on the screen and use this on the touchscreen. E.g. Minecraft does this when you edit signs, write in books, name your tools etc.

It's not just about typing, the whole UI is designed around having the free cursor of a mouse
