Biomass/biofuel problem
Hi there,

I'm new to the game and have a problem with biomass/biofuel. As I wanted to do 100% efficiency from the beginnging and the nodes are a bit spread on my spot, I had to build 3 biomass generators. In addition I have the two generators at the HUB. Now here is the problem: the only thing I do right now is running around the map and gathering leaves and wood as one generator is always empty. I have the solid biofuel by now but it takes so much time until it is produced even when doing it via constructor.
Is there any tip or trick as to keep them running without constantly running around for leaves and stuff? I kills the fun for me a bit.

If you feel up to it, you can also murder enemies and turn their corpses into biofuel. Depending on which enemies you find, it can be a very fast way to get loads of biofuel. Also, automate turning it into biofuel, use the chainsaw, and definitely build over a dozen biomass burners to reduce the time each individual one takes to deplete their fuel.
I had only 5 biomass burners
the two at the stroke and three in addition and fastest possible to the coal here some stay far too long in this stage.

You did that THE FIRST TIME you played while still learning the games basics?

That's really easy to say if you already know what you are doing. If you don't then this is a very foolish thing to try to do when you are still figuring everything out.
Well this is my first run through anyway
and I did not want to deal with the bio garbage have also made a lot by hand to quickly get away from the crap and actually it is logical that quickly comes what better to generate electricity.

100% Yes have only this Savegame

The best option is to build as few machines as possible and do a lot of work at the workbench. Then do targeted research on the coal energy. As soon as you can build coal-fired power plants, it's over with collecting biomass.
I can only confirm that this is how I did it
Biomass is only good for early game, or as a temporary power source. (Crashed hard drives that need power, or a temporary power setup for a new miner to fill a storage stockpile until you get a more stable power line setup).

You probably want to get into Coal Power as soon as you can. It's more work to setup, but once it's automated and stable - you don't have to micromanage biomass ever again.
i advise bulding as meny genorators as posible and fuling them all up, it distrobutes the load across them all and takes longer to use up all the bio fule, segestion, skip coal power, it is very inafishint and rather work towords genarators, check the youtuber Kibits out, he reliced a new vid caled 20 tips for biginers, and if a realy good player

i like your advice but a coal power plant takes long to set up and it is better to try skip it and use genarators, i havint been playing for long, but spent houres on a coal power plant just for it to prodice 300MW and get out shined by 2 genarators a day later

leaf efficiency is garbage, bio mass it all, set up 1 constructor with a storage at each end and keep feeding it leaves n then wood, i'd manually make some biomass at the start. Leaves are evil. when the power does go out you should have a nice reserve from your constructor n top it up with more easy to get leaves

A tip that i didn't click to when i first started playing is you can press space bar on the craft bench for continues production, i used to weight my mouse lol
Ha HA, same but i used my mouse to wagh down my space bar and hold it in, i only found this out after spending 150 houres in the game will i was making my 69000MW power plant
Skip coal generators?? How so exactly?

Fuel generators need heavy frames, motors, and computers. And there are the refineries needed for the fuel and plastic. You're looking at a ridiculous amount of hand crafting to try and "skip" coal power.

How did you go about that?
Well, I guess you can skip coal - but you would have to manually manage a lot of biomass between all the generators ..... that sounds like a nightmare to try and manage long-term.
And eventually you'll start running out of biomass materials, and have to go further and further out to get more leaves / wood / etc.

300 MW is only 4 Coal Generators, and that's really not a lot. Depending on the node quaility (and if you overclock the Miner), you can get a LOT more generators running out of it. .... and unlike anything running on Biomass or Liquid Biofuel - Coal is limitless and fully automated.
Can I hook up multiple generators to one electric circuit? Everytime I did this the generators would get a short. Did I miss something?

Yes, using Power Poles (which can have 4 power line connections at basic tier) - you can connect as many generators and machines together as you want.

Just be aware that if the active MW consumption of all connected machines is greater than the MW you are generating, the circuit trips and all connected machines shut down.

So if you're only generating 120 MW of power at most, and you connect 150 MW of machines.... *poof*.

I have built power generators on the whole map and the whole is on a network over 100 GW that works great
especially if you have also built the whole map with rails because they are also at the same time Strom Führend.

I did what I would call a minimal coal plant run, unintentionally, then realized I had more than I thought. But coal is pretty simple to set up unless you are trying to pump water upward(which is doable but something a new player might not get right off.) Hooking up two hook ups is not all that hard and should be down by now with assemblers. Location is the main issue with coal plants.

I don't think so - you just build where there is water and take the coal there.
That is also my most important rule
Do not lead the water with large distances but the coal to the water.
I have in several places coal-fired power plants and even always all overclocked to 250% and have no problems.
