Update 8: is driving over foundation roads fixed?
When you drive over the ground, it's smooth.
When you drive over foundation roads, it seems to check for dropping collisions after every tile, not 'knowing' that it's part of a road, hence all the bumping around and direction changes.

Has this been fixed in Update 8?

Does it drive as smooth over foundation 'roads' as it does on the ground?

Thanks in advance.

The new vehicle physics in update 8 are supposed to have largely fixed that, yes. I have not tried it myself yet.

Update 8 is supposed to have fixed level foundation driving but not ramps, yet.

yeah, no more bouncing all over the place. The downside is that for some reason, vehicles are now super slippery off foundations.

Seems easy to fix - just stop the game from checking for edge drop offs for 1 second after driving off a foundation if going above a certain low speed (10 km/hr?), as if there's an invisible foundation on all sides of the current one. It will end up on the next foundation and hence never check for "drop offs" and make driving smooth.

Yeah, no wheel bouncing on foundations but it is indeed very slippery and the vehicles will still fly up to the sky after hitting a pebble.... So one issue fixed, another issue created.

Which vehicle is bouncing ? I'm using a lot of tractors on foundations roads (flat and ramps) everywhere and never saw any bouncing on the roads. It was fine in update 7 and still fine in update 8.

Either it's happening with an another kind of vehicle, or it has to do with the way I build roads.

It's always a two way road, four foundations wide (so 2 foundation by side) separated in the middle by a hypertube so that they don't collide and I can travel easily between my outposts.

It works so well that I until now I don't even feel the need to build a train transportation system ^^

The tires are 'bumping' as if they're hitting something at the edge of each foundation piece. This also causes the truck itself (both trucks and the racing car (whatever it's called)) to have slight changes of direction so you have to constantly watch it as it can get thrown off course when you're manually driving - and it's just a flat out annoying experience which makes me wish it was smooth just like it is on the ground.

Weird, it never happened to me, I just use basic foundation and ramps and driving is very smooth...
Are you using blue prints or do you build your roads by hand?

It can be simply foundations one right after another and when you're going over it the wheels are constantly bouncing as if they're hitting a bump between every foundation, and it makes your direction change slightly at times, so if you don't control the steering you'll go over an edge sooner or later because it won't go straight like it does with ease on the ground terrain (with no rocks present of course).

It did it to all vehicles.
