"latch" craft button - intended?

Is it intended to be able to "latch" the craft button and not have to hold space forever?

1. open craft bench, pick a recipe you have materials to make many of
2. press and hold space to start crafting
3. leftclick and hold outside the craft button, drag the cursor a short distance, then release mouse button
4. release spacebar
5. continue crafting operation???

To "unlatch" just click on the craft button once.

You don't even need to do all of that. Just press spacebar once to toggle crafting.

Just tap space once and it will continue crafting until you either run out of resources or inventory space. Also if you press E on a node to manually pick up and ore, you can open tab/inbentory and then release E and it will continue manually pickin up ore.

Yes it is intended. Though as others have said, all you have to do is press space.

This was added a couple of updates ago, it used to be you had to hold left click.

Even if it's not explicitly intended, it's not like they'd be in a hurry to fix it since it's not that useful in the long run. Yeah, it's faster than having a machine do it, but at the same time you're limited to one product at a time, can't do anything else yourself, can't work with fluids, can't use alternate recipes, and can't make any project parts.

I didn't know about the picking up ore thing, but the other thing about the Crafting Station was discussed a lot in the past. And I don't miss placing a weight on my keyboard. :)

And when mods come back for Experimental, there is a mod that increases the speed exponentially in the Crafting Station. (Still works in U7 I believe.)
