You can even switch to peaceful mode.
But you should bring patience for the game.
For some it is also too hard which I do not find.
You might want to get used to using a calculator if you want to play it right - the game even has an in-game calculator.
You don't have to but that's what makes the game to calculate your factories exactly that may not like some but I like to calculate my product lines exactly.
I have also spent over 2300 hours in the game with only one save and there are players who have far more.
The game has virtually no end that you can determine yourself when it is over.
No fun and too glitchy and soon it becomes a mess.
It was fun in the beginning but that went soon away.
That is how I feel about it.
Shame of the money tbh.
You know, this is a purely subjective matter. I always tell people to look at a playtrough or try out a demo to see if that catches your prefrontal cortex. When I first watched a YT video showcasing this game by ImKibitz I wasn't exactly sure what to make of the game or even if the game was even the slightest interesting.
Though, I kept going and then I constantly got an urge/itch to do it differently than him, like I couldn't wait to get my hands on the game, and I don't particularly like the survival element in games either as it's usually way too stressful. This game however is really relaxing and fun, for me personally.
Short attention span is both a gift and a curse; it depends on how much you even want to play the game, and also don't mind redoing things and solving logistical obstacles in a 3D view. If you come mainly from 2D games similar to this you might want to give yourself some time to acclimate to the new 3D environment as it might be easy to feel you're loosing control over what you're doing since it's so "zoomed" in. However, once you get a handle of the game, like what the game has to offer, and completely immerse yourself into the game, you're destined to loose hours and hours into this game.
Lastly, yes, the game is still in development. Although I personally haven't had any troubles so far, you might. Right now it's a mess for some so you do need some patience there. Alternatively, perhaps waiting for the full finished game is more to your liking...?
And the game is prefect for playing it both by yourself and/or with friends/wife(s) by the way...
Do you enjoy transport and factory games like Factorio and OpenTTD? Do you like math and logistical puzzles? How about using spacial and clerical perception? Best bet: watch some Let's Plays, see how the flow of the game feels, and then decide. This isn't a game you beat, and the numbers of play hours you get out of it is really on you. If you need constant external motivation and stimulation from the game, if you can't set your own goals, or if planning out and executing large projects overwhelms you, then this isn't for you.
If you want to step away from the game while its running you can do that anytime you like so long as your not standing next to any fauna. You can find a safe place to stand and leave the game for hours with no downsides or anything trying to kill you, damage your buildings or starving to death.
This game is about design, effeminacy and just good old fashioned creative fun all tied together with math
There are lots of shortcut mods to give people like you those options from the start. You should probably use ones like that on every game, since the progression doesn't seem to interest you.
What you really seem to want is sandbox mode, which is confirmed coming in a future update.
