WILL SATISFACTORY HAVE A LINUX VERSION?

Hi, I already own Valheim, the other game you, (COFFEE STAIN), guys made, with Iron Gate, and with almost 1,000 hours into that game, I looked at other games that you have made, and found Satisfactory. Yet again, it looks like a great game!

I am considering buying the game for 3 people, and 2 of them are on Linux.
Valheim runs great on Linux, as it has a Native Linux version. I do not see a Linux version of Satisfactory on Steam. Just wondering if that will change, since it says EARLY ACCESS.

Valheim was not made by Coffee Strain Studios, it was made by Iron Gate Studios and published by Coffee Stain Publishing.

I am unable to play update 8 on Arch. Tried GE Proton 8.5 and Steam's Experimental Proton. Update 7 stuff works just fine but not update 8. Unknown if that will get addressed or not.

Update 8 runs on a whole new version of unreal, so a lot of things need to be tweaked and addressed still.

that is their bug reporting forum, they don't really look at steam. (at the top under search filters change it to be at least a month so it shows all the posts for update 8, else it defaults to only show posts made the last 3 days)

Its possible that proton isnt working too well with unreal5. so this might be something that unreal or proton devs need to work out.

Update 8 killed linux/proton for me. I cant play anymore. Performance is horrible

Its probably a proton supporting unreal5 engine issue. Something out side the control of coffee stain for the most part but something that unreal or proton can sort out in time. And they likely will as more games come out on unreal engine 5 proton will likely look to getting it to work better.

Yup, we just have to wait. Nothing CS can really do other than make a true Linux version(I know that isn't happening). Hopefully Steam can get proton updated before Update 8 goes to the early access branch.

Adding launch option "-DX11" made Update 8 work on my ubuntu.

runs great on linux. Just using the latest proton, I dont remember selecting a version, I just hit install and play.
