Turned off spiders in new game. How do I complete MAM research now?

Started up a new U8 game and decided to just turn of those pesky spiders! Awesome....

Just got my MAM up and... well I need Stinger parts to work on the Alien Research Tree.... well crap... now what?

The AGS actually removes the spiders. It's a new setting.

I don't know how to fix it. I would try changing AGS to bring spiders back temporarily. You can also use AGS to unlock the entire MAM but I guess you don't OP doesn't want to do that.

Yeah I have done a few play through and just didn't want to deal with the really nasty bad guys and just build but still didn't want to completely cheese the game by unlocking everything.

I will see if I can turn if on for a bit mid game. Thanks

You can use the "AGS give item"-thing to give you that one stinger remains.

Isn't the stinger remains only used to unlock the recipe to convert stinger remains into alien protein? The remainder of the tree uses either alien protein or alien dna capsules, and unlocking any one of the four initial nodes lets you progress. I can understand that it's annoying to have an incomplete research tree though.

if you really want to finish up the mam you can turn on passive mode, turn stingers on, wait for a fight where the stinger loses do your research, turn them off again.

like Heinzz said, if you play with AGS, just use the give items option to get the one time needed parts.
