I just don't know if the latest version works quite sluggishly or if I just can't use it well yet myself.

The game needs zero revision in that direction.
anyhow this game takes time and creativity and there are alot of things that have been added to make building easier....I remember having toi put foundations down one by one when trying to make a stupid long oil conveyor before pipes, zooping of anything else.
then there is mod which makes things far easier with things like area actions building and mods with fancy placeable things and building materials to allow you to create all sort of amazing things. although personally the vanilla building tools and materials are more then I need but if you need more there is more out there.
As the game progresses to 1.0 I am pretty sure there will be new building QOL things tacked on as well as new architectural items....alot of this might be post 1.0 though. but if they change nothing else I am happy.....just want to get the story part added so I know what to do with all these mercer spheres and sam ore
Basically OP made the case for blueprints. Theyre awesome for exactly the problem OP describes.
A Ford Grand Vic... no problem.
You have 3 ways to play the game: finish it spaghetti-style after sending all items with the space elevator. finish it with nice and effective buildings or start the "real" game after tier 8. Optimize and scale it all up, become magalomaniac.
There is gameplay wise no need at all to build factories that produce 100 super computers / min. But there are players outside who love to do it. Using all uranium nodes on the map just to build 252 nuclear power plants, that´s insane, but players do it. People, build factories on concrete platforms 500 x 500 and place 1.000 refineries on it only to produce 8.000 plastic / min. Why? Because it is possible........
If you want to increase the size of your factory, increase the time to build it.
In Satisfactory always the journey is the reward.
- Mod for larger blueprints because devs limited them to 4x4 for no reason
And that's pretty much all you need, makes the most tedious building tasks much easier.
Not really: the game gives you so many possibilities for being creative, it would be a shame not to use them.
I haven't met a single person that plays Satisfactory, Factorio or a similar game purely to connect inputs to outputs and see numbers go up. Everybody strives to make their factories look at least organized, or in many cases pleasant to look at.
the larger blueprints are in a mod by itself as well as in the satisfactory plus mod if I am not mistaken
the larger zoop existed in a mod since before zoop was even added in I think its caleld area actions mod...it even extends zooping in two dimensions rather then one. you can basically zoop a 100x100 grid foundation in one go if you like instead of doing 100 individual lines of 100 long
Yeah I know those exist, that's why I wrote to use mods that make those two things better
