How to run hella fast
I noticed my character runs at sometimes lower and sometimes higher speed. It dons blade runners. Sometimes I hear this metallic clank when they hit the surface and sometimes I don't. The fastest my character runs is when running up to some machine and pressing 'configure' and after somehow my Shift key rarely gets stuck, so then after I exit the panel, every touch of WASD makes my char leap in any direction until I tap Shift again.

Sometimes, but not always, I achieve fast running with blade runners when jumping down from some height holding shift and until I let go of it, my char will run as fast as right after landing.

So my question is how do I intentionally achieve top running speed, like from standstill? Is it possible? Should my char be running equally fast at all times when equipping blade runners and it's some kind of a bug that it doesn't maybe?

and it works on 1 meter ramps uphill

Running up to a machine and pressing configure, you are absolutely right - interacting with a machine or your inventory while holding a movement key can cause the movement to stick, as the game does not realise you've released the key. This happens to me a lot with the hoverpack, where the "fly up" key gets stuck, which is quite inconvenient.
This is a glitch that I hope gets fixed.

The non-glitch way to travel fast without relying on infrastructure, is as @Pineapplowl says - run forward, then crouch and immediately jump. This gives you a speed-boosted long jump that's faster than your run speed. As soon as you land, crouch and jump again.
If you use blade runners you get more speed. And if you use the jetpack, you can tap the fly up key to stay in the air without losing much speed, avoiding the need to keep crouch jumping, and avoiding the need for there to be continuous smooth-ish floor

For even faster travel, do this on top of the fastest conveyor belts you have - the conveyor speed is added to your movement speed (as long as you're walking with, not against, the belt)

Basically it's any ui - machine, hub, mam, inventory, build menu, etc.

Thank you all, I'll try what I was told here.

I was playing some more... hours and I used that movement:

Using above method allows me, in essence, to keep my speed only while midair. After landing I return to running speed. So this would be the method 'how to fly hella fast', while running is still not a thing except when my keyboard's shift locks. There has to be some method to reach this speed by some combination of movement. Like '<<>>^^vvABAB' on a controller to unleash animality in Mortal Kombat, or something.

When doing the run crouch jump, to maintain speed after the first, you have to crouch jump the very instant you touch the ground. I don't let go of crouch when doing it, so the instant I hit the ground, I hit jump again.
But you are right, the speed is only maintained while in the air. But with this method you are in the air 99% of the time anyway.

There's no key combo to unlock faster movement, there's just the vanilla sprint.

I believe it's called the booty-pop, but it's best to not google how to do it.

Seems the answer is to make a mouse macro to crouch then jump. Helps prevent RSI since you're pressing 1 button rather than timing two.

Yeah, I got it how it works and I'm able to perform it with enough accuracy to call the combo usable. What puzzles me though is how the character changes movement direction if I simply change orientation by moving my mouse. It's hilarious how I can follow a complicated path while midair using no thrust whatsoever. But it's ok, it's better than overshooting a jump and finding myself over some bottomless chasm.

the timing is not so bad, u can hold crouch at any point during midair to trigger the sped up slide, then u can jump again at any point during the slide to maintain the forward momentum. works great when doing it ontop of long stretches of belt too for ever faster speeds
