Dropping vehicles into the void
Read this on the wiki. Is this true? I've dropped a couple in, what should I do about it?

"Dropping a vehicle into the void will cause it to fall forever, which degrades game performance, it should therefore be avoided at all costs."

The only thing you can do about it is to load your save into the online save/map editor: https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map

And to select and delete the offending vehicles

i dont know if they can fall forever as the z location would eventually hit the integer limit the game can support and theoretically stop falling because the game runs out of numbers large enough to describe its location. one would assume the devs have some sort of trash clean up to deal with things in insane locations like this but they may not have as its an issue that probably doesnt come up all that often unless you are josh from letsgameitout where I think he probably sent several thousand doggos into the void to deal with his nuclear waste problem.

I actually set a train line up especially to drive trains off the waterfall into the void for fun but it doesn't let you do that unfortunately :)
Maybe I am Josh 2 lol

Anyway I'll have a look in the save editor, see if they're still there, thanks.

The train has this amazing ability to stop on a dime when the track ends but cant stop all all when another train accidentally comes at it head on the same track.
train logic...go figure

also in an unrelated note I just found out 2 days ago you can put trains involved in collision back on the track with just one keypress. all this time I assumed I would need to deconstruct them and rebuild them and reassign them to a route. up until testing recently I haven ever once had a crash. but the other day I engineered one and I went to clean up the mess and noticed it said "press E to rerail train" or something.
So I have a much more fun time playing train pinball with that feature discovered.

yeah the train crashes are awesome - and sometimes act oddly.

One of my tracks is on a very high bridge .. my train hit a stationary loco which id forgotten abot and left parked on it. When they crashed it fell down so the track appeared empty but was impassible, I put the train back on but it still wouldnt recover. eventually I exited and reloaded and an orange 'ghost' crashed engine appeared on the track which allowed you to repair the loco.

By the way, I checked the void in the save editor, but the trucks have gone.

after playing around with trains I discovered that manually driving a train into a path signal intersection is a suicide run as the path signals cant you have in any way possible. count up about 6 more crashes to my tally now.

Does this even work anymore? I've loaded my map in there a few times and it shows there are vehicles but I can't find the icon of them to delete them.

I always close these holes into the void with foundations. And I usually don't build anything on the edges of the map. If it should be necessary, I build a protective wall there.
