There are currently no plans for any release on console or Linux/Mac. We might do it in the future.

doubt it ever will unless you play via STEAM on a playstation...

Not anytime soon. Meaning that if you want to play the game then you are better off playing it on PC.

eventually it will surely port over but theyre not saying when. They probably want to finish it first.

Given the above quote and the indefinite postponement of controller support, there is no basis for an assumption that it will get a console release.

The basis is that it makes way more business sense than any other feature so the cost/benefit is astronomically good.

It's also one of the last things they'd build so it makes sense that they wouldn't add it (or release plans for it) til after 1.0 once the features are stable.

basically the long and short of it guys is there is no immediate plans to port this to other formats. Once the game is out of Early Access who knows? But that will be when they will decide whether or not a console release is beneficial for them.

I would assume that a console release will be possible and they may look into it, but I would rather them finish the game first before worrying about porting over.

dont use that cursed work here on steam :)

Anyhow if it comes to console it will probably be after release and probably not as feature filled as the main version. Such is the way of games that begin on PC and end up on consoles as an afterthought.

Its appears to be working for me. I have Proton enabled for everything on the last stable release of Proton.

The fact that it runs via Proton does not mean that it's been released on Linux. A Linux release would mean a native Linux build that runs without compatibility layers such as Proton. Not to mention that there's no guarantee that they won't do something in the future that breaks the game when running through Proton.

PC has a MUCH larger player base than consoles do, the games have a indefinite lifespan even on newer hardware, hardware limitations of consoles, licensing fees and additional testing (which can increase development costs), target audience for complex building simulations is generally not on consoles, time constraints and the controller simply does not have enough buttons... It is not coming, most games ever made are for PC not console, it is that simple.

That would be called a cash grab and would be not what the devs or players actually want... There is a clear divide in games crafted with love for games and games crafted solely to earn money, you are describing the latter but this game is the former.

Game creation is a business after all. if your not doing it for the money then why else fund such a thing.
That said the a good business that wants to make money needs a product that the consumers are willing to pay for. So maybe the bar for playstation is a bit lower given the reward for doing meaning the we the consumers are basically telling them with out purchase behavior that a console version can be lower effort but high reward.

Such is the intricacies of supply and demand when driven by flawed humans.
