There is the research.
Nice theory though.
One thing is sure. SAM ore will be a late game ore and it will be very heavy protected. Like Giants Spiders or Large Fire breeder.
Personally I think SAM ore will be required for the spaceship that we'll leave the planet on in the version 1.0 release. Here's hoping anyway!
Even though the name is wrong the application may be the same as I guessed since I read this from the wiki, "Its content will "mostly be used by players nearing the end of the game to solve problems around their factories they might not want to deal with as much at that point"".
Haha nice one xD
Wouldn't leaving the planet be a violation of FICSIT code though? Aren't we supposed to stay there for life?
Surely the ultimate goal would be to create something that can provide resources to the rest of civilisation across the galaxy and fit into intergalactic trade routes.
That's a great idea (assume it's an idea rather than a known fact). It could still fit with the SAM ore theory (it could be required for the final parts of the ship).
I love the idea of the ship coming or being built, but I don't think it should be our escape. I think it should be a trade freighter which we can then use to start to trade products across the galaxy.
OMG this game could be enormous.
