did red bamboo forest become radioactive?
seems to have fixed itself, there is no longer any radiation in/around the station. i guess it was a bug or something? odd

i recently unlocked bauxite, and found one of the nodes in the red bamboo forest. i set up a miner, some onsite storage, and a train station to get the bauxite to/from my base.

ofc it was challenging making a first foray into a later game biome, but radiation was not a challenge i faced at any point while setting up my miner/train station. that was all around a week ago i think?

today i finished setting up my refineries to get aluminum scrap, so i went to get more bauxite and the second i got out of my train i started taking radiation damage. now it seems i cant approach my miner/station on foot without taking rad damage. did something change over the past few days? did i just somehow manage to get lucky over the 2 days i spent setting up the station? am i just missing something in general?

thx for any response

edit: pic of station, miner, bridge. radiation damage begins about 1/4 way over my bridges

There're a lot of uranium deposits in Red Jungle. If you mine them (preferably wearing a radiation suit) it will cut down on incidental radiation within the biome.

i see a couple deposits around the biome, but none were near my station when i set it up, and i hadnt encountered any radioactive stuff there previously, not sure whats up with that

Use the radiation level to zero in on the source: the higher the rads the closer the source. It'll take some prospecting, but you'll find the source eventually.

There are a bunch of uranium rocks (some near a crash site) and one of the uranium nodes in that area.

Also after you clear out the uranium rocks, the radiation might still linger until you reload the game.

Congratulations you have built over a uranium source.

You should also note that there are many small resources that you have to mine by hand, including uranium in the Red Forest, of which I have many.

no, theres no uranium in the area, heres the location. my radar tower doesnt show any and there was no uranium or radiation when i built the station. i also went around the surroundings many times to find any uranium deposits and couldnt find any either

that said, it seems it was a bug as now it seems to have fixed itself or something, as there is no longer any radiation in or around the station. very weird happenings but i guess thats just early access bugs?

OK other place then it is the small knobs

It's directly below you, underneath the Bauxite node (There's an open-area cave)

There was also another rock to the left a bit - Not sure if there's more, but decided to go and have a look for you
