MK3 Miners
MK3 miners overclocked to 1200 items per min on a pure node is way more then the fastest belt can haul it away. Fastest belt I have seen is MK5 at 780 items per min. So you can't make the best out of an MK3 yet? I'm I missing something here?

You got it. Going above 780/min is pointless.

I believe it was mention in a dev video that this issue will be addressed at some point.

At least at this point, there's no value in overclocking a miner past 780 items per minute.
MK3 overclocking can be good to get more out of lower quality nodes though...

Thanks for the info

If only you could hook storage up to a machine without belts; I would love to see how fast it would fill with a max overclocked mk 3 miner lol

Realistically you only need 720 (or two of them; 1,440) for the overwhelming majority of factory sections to run efficiently ("just-on-time" logistics). Of course once ya have several 780 nodes going you can start ripping the additional 60 [from 780] to start some side setups.

The good thing is you can utilize underclocking on pure nodes later in the game, saving a lot of energy. I always end up trying to run underclocked factories because the power requirements become absolutely insanely inefficient if you run overclocking. With the low construction cost of constructors and assemblers, doubling up quickly gives you a return on investment especially mid-game because you need to run fewer coal deposits for energy and can just go balls to the wall with steel production even on rather few coal nodes. I often end up just finding that small lake in the south and using the coal there and the water there for coal energy production, then I stretch that power capacity as far as I can with underclocked factories.
