Will trucks stop for trains.
Will trucks stop for trains and the revers. I want to make a road intersection with both truck and rail lines going through it. Am I just asking for trouble ?

No. Trains will stop for other trains if you set up signals along the tracks correctly. Other than that vehicles have no awareness of other vehicles.

Not by default. But truck/train intersections are possible and can be build. You have to abuse the pause command as well as the train signals a bit. Tutorials are available on youtube.
Doesn't really matter if they hit tough. The truck gets spinned around some, and then attempts to return to it's route. If it fails for long enough,the game just
teleports it back to it's route.
I have not experimented with it but trains clip through almost every thing except other trains. I suspect they will clip right through a truck or tractor. Tractors and trucks though will hit things like conveyers and machines, while trains will clip right through

That's not entirely true. I've numerous times seen tractors either queuing up for a station, or waiting for another truck to pass when their routes overlapped. I even saw one tractor stop, and then back up to get out of the way of another tractor that was going to other direction.
And here I thought I was your average vehicle enjoyer. I stand corrected. I build 4 stations in a '+' type arrangement with 4 tractors each basically going E-W and N-S in a circle. Each has a loaded path.

When I had just 2 stations, yeah they stopped and waited until the vehicle in front of them cleared the following waypoint in the route.

It was a mess on purpose with 8 of them running, but yeah even when crossing paths from different routes, they tried to avoid each other. It really didn't work well as there were just too many vehicles and I think I deadlocked some of them.
