Is there a way to put items on the hotbar?
It's super trash not being able to pick items with the numbers, the wheel is super unreliable

Your topics can really be called a flood. All your questions have already been discussed 100 times. Try searching. If you don't like the search in steam, try wiki. The game has one of the most complete wiki of games in early access.

If you think this is answered somewhere why not simply post the link? It would have costed you less time.

You really have a lot of questions that the wiki (in-game tutorial, searching steam forums) could answer. Just saying [now] being you have a new question every couple hours. lol

Edit: Oh! What LostME said.. just read that reply.

So you don't know the answer? Or is the game simply too limited to allow items in the hotbar?

That is not possible. You must utilize hand slots for equipment and use the mouse wheel to cycle between them.

The problem with your posts is that you seemingly know of an easier solution to your problem which you for some reason ignore and instead choose to flood the discussion feed which might block out posts by people who have questions that arent as easy to solve or dont have a clear wiki page already.

You are wasting everyone's time, including your own by making these posts. You already know how to find the answer, so why ask.

My bad, misread that. This is not any other game. It's this one. Maybe look for a way to bind the mouse wheel to keys. Not ideal, but otherwise you're sol

you almost answered your own question, just completely wrong, this is not first person shooter game, this is factory building game with first person view, main goal is to build not shoot. that's why we have more complex control system for building and simple system for weapons, items, consumables.

Why can't people say a simple no, instead of going around in circles? What do you get from that?

And why does the game have such a bad game design choice? Is they have unreal doing all the hardwork why not take advantage of it?

I played the game wigmund the other day, and you could put:
items into the hotbar
skills into the hotbar
equipment into the hotbar
Most games out there are like that, why can't we have that in this game?

I agree, items in the hotbar would be nice. Most people probably wouldn't use it (including me) but for those who do want it, it would be there. Scrolling through your weapons can get clunky at times, especially as you unlock more slots. The game doesn't need to be a competitive FPS to have QoL features related to it.

I could only see it working within the context of the current game if the number of hotbar slots was still limited to the number of hand slots you have unlocked, and the bar did not conflict with or change the current build bar controls.
