How can I ride in a tractor with autopilot activated?

As the title says. I am just about to try out the autopilot function for the first time (without any direct use for the moment). Is it not possible to drive in a tractor/truck with the autopilot activated?

Sadly once you make the tractors and trucks automated, you won't be able to ride inside them, also be careful around them they will run over anything in their path.

You can also automate the explorer and factory cart, but they have very limited used with that, they are better for getting around areas.

You can stand on top of them, but not sit in the driver's seat.

Explorers deliver their 24 stacks faster than the trucks do at the cost of fuel. The factory cart consumes no fuel making it the most resource effective road vehicle. The pain to record a path with it is a problem tough :)
