Cant load homing rifle ammo

I cant seem to figure out how to load homing rifle ammo into the rifle. When i hold R it says i have no ammo to load and im about to lose my mind

I haven't had any problem with it - I usually start with 500 homing and 500 turbo (one inventory slot each), equip the Mk 1 rifle, then press and hold R and it lets me choose which one to load. After that a simple R will reload the one I previously chose.

You have to have the ammo types in your inventory in order to select between them by holding the "R" key, this goes for the Rebar Gun, Rifle, and Detonator.

E does nothing for me. If I hold down R it brings up the ammo select type and says no ammunition type even though i have hundreds of homing ammo.

can you use the R key to quick switch between any parts? (belts, foundations, walls, basically everything works the same way) If not, you changed a keybind or something.

Also no one in this thread seems to know, you do not need to hold R, you can just press it to switch bypassing the selection menu.

While you have the rifle out and the ammo in question in your inventory
Hold R to switch to it, then one 'tap' on R to reload said ammo in your gun.
Keep an eye on bottom left ammo count when you do this

Sorry, I fumble around my keyboard a bit.
Hold R. Pull arrow with mouse towards desired ammo, just like you do when resource scanning or changing recipes.
then tap R to reload what you just selected.

you must either unlock it tiers/research it in m.a.m.....

Not sure where you're getting that from. If you have multiple item types you do have to hold the button to skip straight to the one-of-many that you want. I suppose if all you have are two types, then tapping works, but really, who does that?

As for the OP, if you bought it from the Shop instead of actually crafting it, you have to manually collect it from the Your Purchases page, it's not bagged and handed to you.

If you manufactured it at the workshop, it's in your inventory. If you have a mod breaking it, you have a mod issue.
