Well, that took no time at all. I swear, whoever makes these calls over at their team doesn't play their own game. They REALLY need to connect with their players more and use their experiences to make proper decisions.
Yup, as I said in my comment the game already has native support for larger blueprints. It's seriously just somebody at coffee stain that thought they know better and said "it will only be 4x4, end of story" and arbitrarily limited it...
They seriously made a system that can support blueprints of various sizes at the same time, and then for some inexplicable reason they limit it to one size only, that is also too small for anything other than simple designs with smaller buildings. Just... how? Who makes these decisions?
Is for me also more of an alibi function "we now have blueprints".
I have never needed blueprints neither the one with the inactive map nor with the mod "Factory Skyline
and I do not know if I will make this or with the mod much, I'm used to build everything nicely by hand without cloning.
Or how about the crazy amount of work you need to do to properly connect multiple blenders? Now you can just do that instantly, without fumbling around with distances conveyer poles, splitters and 4-way pipes. Do it properly once in such a way that you can just add an infinite number of them in a row, then save that.
That and cosmetic setups. I have a nice end of the rail trainstopper bumper thingy and good looking electric poles for long distance connection where I'm not using rails for it, like uphills or the like.
I really have no idea what you guys are complaining about, BPs are great. Not too small, not too big.
Says in the description of the mod that also has nothing to do with the mod, but the game can not handle such large data the mod uses pure vanilla code
This is a very good point! Going with an even number was an odd choice.
If 5x5 foundations dramatically increases the utility of designing factories with them, I don't see the harm in one small increase in size.
What does that exclude, the space elevator? Meh... not too concerning on its own.
Should be 5x5x5 though.
For a back-to-back machine layout, which I use rather often, I use the prefabbed pipe version on one side and clean on the other. There's not enough room in the blueprint designer to do a full back-to-back unit, but piping the clean line machines to pre-laid junctions isn't too bad.
Naturally since I can't get through a post without using the phrase "Wall Bus" I must also inform you all I have all my Wall Bus segments blueprinted. Never again will I forget to select the double-sided power connector for the bottom segment! To align corner pieces atop each other I have to drop a temporary 1x1 foundation onto the lower piece, but it's still easier than building a whole corner by hand. "Nudge" will fix that.
