Just one reason why I generally prefer ramps to ladders.
ladders? safely? psshh. ladders are for going up, not down.
Fwiw this is meant very tongue in cheek, but for me as long as I'm at full health any way down is safe unless there are critters at the bottom. That's just how I do it though.
But with the Jump Pack that's done anyway, then just jump down and brake with the Jump Pack.
But if I start off at the farside or middle of the platform I can just back up towards the ladder, even sprinting, and grab it automatically.
