Good computer setup?
Hi everyone! I am looking to set up a good gaming computer that will run this game and a few like it. Doing some graphics work too, drawing and such. Can anyone tell me some good specs to look for in a computer? Any thoughts are helpful, thanks!

Budget?

What @margalus said: "Budget". In the PC world the performance you get match's what your willing to pay for.
CPU - I5 (or AMD equivalent) for good gaming. If your working with Graphic's rendering go higher (I7, I9)
Ram - 16 to 32 Gigs onboard. Higher speeds give faster response time's but can be pricey. More ram helps with graphic and model rendering also.
Storage - I'm using two 1TB M.2 (plugs onto the motherboard) SSD drives. One is the OS and the other is for games. Most newer mobo's come with a Gen4 M.2 slot that links directly with the CPU. This is my game drive. If you plan to store alot of media files I would suggest a 2TB SATA SSD (or larger) traditional hard drive also (budget allowing).
GPU - I'm using a RTX 3080. It's more than capable of running most all of my games on Ultra settings and pricing and availability are good right now. I've no interest in upgrading nor will I want to for some time.
Power Supply - Minimum 850W, Recommended - 1000W for future upgrades.

If your buying a Prebuild please avoid Big Name Companies like dell, alienware and most anything from newegg. You will be disappointed by the quality. I bought mine from Xidax. Their PC's are off the shelf parts. The PC I got is great but I didn't get any of the hardware or accessories that you would get if you bought the parts yourself. I was expecting more.

Thank you for the advice, very much appreciated. As for budget, I am thinking of staying under $2500, though for a really good build it may be difficult. Was looking at prebuilds, good advice on that, thank you.

I'm in the ball park with Indigo Synn, though I built my PC myself and selected each component myself. I run professional CAD software, do video editing, and run games (like this one) on max res and don't really have any issues, even when using all these high end applications at the same time. Building my own kept my budget at around $2k, so if you want more for less, this may be a route to consider.

OS: Windows 10 Pro
MB: ASUS X570-E Gaming
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Graphics: RTX 3080
RAM: 64 GB
C: 1TB SSD (reserved for OS and key apps)
D: 1TB HD (for apps and data storage)
E: 8TB SSD (reserved for games)

Spent another 1K on a double wide curved screen gaming monitor, soooo worth it!

for $2500, go top of the line. Intel i9 13900K, Mobo, 32GB ddr5 4800, 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Nvme, 4TB Samsung 870 QVO 4TB, 850W PSU and either a RTX 3080 or if you can wait a couple months an RTX 4070. That can all be had for $2500 at Microcenter.

I am liking the advice, sounds like great ideas for a new build and whether I build my own or consider one from (Microcenter), sounds like my budget will be good. Thank you folks!

You should try here ( https://pcpartpicker.com/ ) if you want to build it yourself.

I'm doing 10/m if you like one. It's just going to the wood chipper anyway.

Maybe check GamersNexus on YT for advice about pre-builds (mostly the ones to NOT buy)

I was planning to buy a new machine myself but I'm disappointed by the current gen (low efficiency).

I'm actually using https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/ it give you a percentage. Thats the bottleneck rate you want to have it as low as possible. All above 10% is " claimed " not well suited for the tasks you gave it to. For example i have a ryzen 7 3700x on a Nvidia Geforece RTX 2060 super ( yes i know its an older one but it handles "most" games still fine " with a score of 6.2 %, wich is good but can be better. So when u have selected your components Cpu and gpu are the most important things in a pc compare them en read the results. My OS runs on a m2 samsung 980 pro 1TB . Games are stored on a simple 2 tb samsung SSD. Starting up time is about 3 -5 seconds maybe
