Two of my water extractors/pipe pumps not working, not sure why
I've built these coal factories before, always worked fine. Now one of them, the one I just built, one half of it works fine, the other isn't. It's a typical 8 coal factory x 4 water extractor setup, 2 extractors on 4 coal factories, works fine usually.

I'll add in two screenshots to give you an idea of how it looks.

The left side is the one not working. The ONLY difference is that the pipes are a bit longer, because of the rock that was in the way so I had to put those two extractors a bit further. But I figured this shouldn't be an issue? The extractors are 200/200 water, so they're filled up. So I assume the pipe pumps simply aren't pumping it up, but I don't understand why.

I would recommend deleting and rebuilding all of the pipes, and to not include the pipeline pumps this time. Sometimes belts/pipes just bug out and don't work for seemingly no reason, and the only solution is the classic "have you tried turning it off and on again?", or in this case rebuilding it.

All of the pipes look full, so it doesn't look like water is the issue. Also, you don't need pipe pumps for that situation. Pipe pumps set your headlift (vertical distance fluid can be pumped) to ~20m. They server no purpose on horizontal pipes like in your screenshots.

Yeah I know, I kind of just attached them after I saw the issue to see if it would do anything haha. The weird part is that the pipes at the extractors are full, but the further I go towards the coal plants, the less they are. Only the first is filled up, but beyond that they simply won't. And i'm not sure why because they're all connected properly

I'll try this, thank you. I hope this is what it is haha.

Judging from the image, I'd say the pipe isn't connected right before the coal generator with the red light. Reconnect the pipes at the 2nd 4-way connector.

Try setting up the three water extractor outlets facing the generators. It will help streamline the flow in the pipes.

Found the problem, the pipes were glitched indeed, that's all it was. Upon replacing them the exact same way it works. Lol what a headache over nothing.

Hi dregora .... glad its sorted .... for future reference you should be aware that mk 2 pipes are buggy and sometimes they just stop working properly for no apparent reason so do what you just did , delete the problem section and replace it.

BTW if you delete a pipe support to make you layout look neater it sometimes leaves a gap in the pipe which is only just visible , the same thing happens when you delete a joint that links pipes together.

quick update for you ..... i just looked at the first screen shot , why do you have pumps on level pipes , replace them with flow meters to stop slopping.

On you second screenshot i looked at the 2 water extractors , the left one shows the pumps power light to the right of the pump , the pump on the right hand side of the screen shows the power light in between the bit of pipe and the extractors which makes me think one of your pumps is the wrong way round

i could be wrong because you can only just see the right hand pump

Those pumps were added after the fact to see if that would change a thing, I usually don't place them on there at all. I just didn't delete them yet, but they were more of a ''let's see if this works'' kinda solution. But they're long gone.

The rest is fine. The piped were bugged, I replaced them and it all worked great.

Ok, so I see the pipes are a bit... moody. I've had floors of fuel generators deactivate with me having to rebuild all the pipes, glad it's not jut me. Also: thanks for the tips about pipe supports leaving gaps.
