cloud saves

my steam client is set to make saves in the cloud , i have installed a mod manager to give me new machines to build and new parts and recipes to make , i have been told that when the game is updated my saves wont work ?????

When the game updates, the mods need to be updated before you can load your saves again. Has nothing to do with cloud saves.

ok thanks i think i am gonna get rid of the mod because i just read on a satisfactory forum you can loose your saves and i have 1000 hours on this.

It depends on the mod.
If the mod does not change buidables or the world then it shouldn't matter. E.g the Smart! Mod just gives you tools for mass building, so it does not break the world if you switch it off

i have only used a few bits such as making new items and machines , funny thing is ..... i asked how to get more content .... NOT cheats and a few guys helped me , then when i said i got it the very same people said i dont belong in these disscussions pages anymore

Who cares if you do cheat. Play how you want it is not a competitive online game. If you are having fun then that is the point.

Don't listen to evil people. This game is not a competition. The game gives you tools and you can use them to do whatever you want. Like old Lego, there are tons of pieces and what you make of them is limited by your imagination. There are many videos on YouTube with entire cities. Of course they are built with "cheats" like free build and fly mode. But they are amazing.

Speaking of saves. They are saved on your computer and then go to the cloud (I think when you exit the game, let the knowledgeable ones correct it). During the game, you can click save and copy your save to a separate folder. Then you can also restore your game from this backup. And if we touch the mod like "More Milestones +100". It is made by a large group of people, work on the update is carried out immediately when a patch appears on an early branch. So almost immediately it works after the release of the update.

Just remember that a cloud save that automatically tries to overwrite itself is NOT a backup; it's just a remote save. Copy your save files occasionally.
