blocks are now colored black by default
anyone know how to set the custom color for walls using the color manager? I accidentally must have messed with something when playing with palettes and now my walls are defaulting to black no matter what I do.

Satisblacktory.

Press X and look at the colour of the ficsit standard swatch.
This video tells the standard setting if it became black.

If you right click on a swatch you will see what kind of buildings will be standard built in that swatch.

Press X to open the color manager, then right-click a swatch.
There are checkboxes for the various items, checking one will set that swatch as the "default" for that item.

If you have accidentally wiped out a color swatch, the default colors are listed in the dropdown at the bottom-right of a given set of sliders.

I have had that happen before in update 5. There wasn't anything in game that I could do, I didn't worry about it too much and the next time I logged on it had resolved itself. If you did accidentally set the default color to black then you can switch it in the color manager.

ah I see what the issue was. If you set your custom swatch to "standard" then it blacks out the shader. I guess it has to do with the description that the custom one cannot update painted buildings if changed.

Just setting my walls to use the regular swatches worked fine.

Aye, the "custom" swatch is a little different from the others; it's intended to be a permanent single application of color, whereas the others can be used to paint things and then if you later change the color of the swatch the buildings will also change color to match.

To put it another way, the "custom" swatch paints a building with the assigned color, and all the other swatches paint the building with the material of the swatch itself; this can be most easily observed by changing the color of the top-left most swatch and watching your whole factory (barring anything painted a different color, of course) change colors to match.

Ok, i've tried as suggested before, but still, the customizer interface is the only one not clear in game, others are awesome. What i still don't understand, is, if i'm select the first default swatch, the foundations are yellow and not black and gray like when in early game you just put down things. What i'm supposed to do to don't use any of the switch and just let the parts being coloured like you play for the first time and you haven't get the flowers to make the colours, please?
