co-op progression?
I saw back when this launched that the game had shared coop -- so that if I were to unlock something, a friend on my server would also have that same unlock without having to do whatever was necessary to unlock it.

Is this still a problem or is there a way on a dedicated server for players to have their own unique progression that they can do at their own pace?

I am planning on playing here with a few people, and everybody prefers their own progression with their own base. Some people can't be on 24/7, so they just want to be able to enjoy the game at their own pace without feeling overwhelmed or rushed by the fact that a few of us can play a significant amount more time.

So is it possible for each person or team of people to have their own progression on a dedicated server, whether it be through mod or vanilla, doesn't matter. Just want to make sure that we're able to actually enjoy the game as a group, but separately.

Playing in co-op is a completely collaborative endevour. There is no way to have unlocks only be available to the person who unlocked them, and likely no plans to ever make that an option. It just doesn't make sense in this kind of game.

It is not a problem. It is simply the way it is/or was since i last played close to the release of Update 5. But i am pretty sure its still the same.
There is 1 HUB and everybody shares the same technology. Does it really matter that much who actually "unlocks" the tech? You will have to work together at some point anyways since some resources are rarer than others and depending on the map location you will run into the factories of others anyways.

It's certainly a problem for a group of people who want to play in the same world together, but need to have individual progression.

Yes, it 100% matters who unlocks the technology. If 2 groups of people are playing for 8 hours straight, and our other group gets on late at night, they don't want to be advanced to some crazy tech. They want to work their way up to that tech, and actually enjoy the game -- rather than having it rushed for them. Definitely not much fun if you don't have anything to work toward.

Working together to share resources while we each maintain our own individual progression is one thing. In any Builder type games, we've always shared resources as needed. As people who play the game to enjoy the progression of the game, we each were hoping we'd be able to enjoy our own progression.

Definitely unfortunate that it's not a possibility, even through mods.

Thanks for your response though.

This game doesnt support that type of play. There is a limited amount of resource nodes spread around, different groups dont work too well because of that. Early on its fine when you're just using iron, copper and the other basics but some of the higher tier nodes are harder to find and less available.

The best way for each player to have their own progression is for each player to have their own save file and use only that save file. Then what each player does will not affect the others.

Then they should play solo, or the 2 that play less have their own server.

Why are you even replying bro? If the guy didn't want to play with his friends then he wouldn't be posting asking about a mod or workaround. Practically all of you replying are so insufferable. We've obviously already played the game to know it's not a feature, so why do you have such an issue with someone wanting to play the game differently to better their own experience? Matter of fact, why does it matter how they play at all regardless? Who gives a ♥♥♥♥ if that's how it's "meant" to be played? It's a sandbox game. The inability to play on a server without being left behind is stupid and defeats half the point of playing on a server in the first place.

Why are you replying to a 2 year old topic?

It's a necro thread.

And it's a coop game. Game is coop, progression is coop.

It's coop.

Short for cooperative. Meaning working together towards a common goal.
