With that being said. the hotfix patch the did just recently introduce another bug because my trains arn't work anymore either even though they were working perfectly for 100's of hours
I've heard this a lot and I think it must have to do with the "new" signals system. I only have simple update 4 style trains in my world, single tracks with single trains, no signals and they still work perfectly.
It sounds like the OP has just started building a simple railway, no signals required and so should be able to get it working just fine.
I even have only a short distance left without signals, only two stations and the train does not start.....
Satis uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing since the update.....
If you drive manually it should just do a total halt at the bad rail
Do you have locomotives facing both directions on your train? The trains will only drive "forward" on autopilot, so you'll need to have "forward"-facing locomotives.
The station direction also matters; You'll need to have the station facing in the same direction as the train will travel in order to have the train be able to autopilot to it.
Some ASCII diagramming, in an attempt to elucidate my meaning:
(< and > indicate "forward" direction of locomotives and/or stations)
Given a train shaped like this:
<OengineO[freight][freight][freight][freight]OengineO>
And given that your track and stations are laid out like this:
<station_A[platform][platform][platform][platform]...[platform][platform][platform][platform]station_B>...[platform][platform][platform][platform]station_C>
Assuming a single rail line with no signals whatsoever, you can set an autopilot program to go A > B > C > A, and there will be no issues.
However, you cannot go C > B > A > C, because the station directions do not match those travel directions.
One possible workaround is to make all your stations like this:
<station[platform][platform][platform][platform]station>
This would enable bi-directional travel for every station.
