gasmask researched in the HUB built in the equipment lab
you cant destroy it but those creatures that produce it can be blown up with grenades

The actual plants can be deleted w/ the TNT things. The gas rocks, you'll need the gas mask unlocked and equiped.

Methane is a clear, odorless gas. Chlorine gas is yellow-green. Just saying.

Never understood why people always called the green gas for "fart gasses", and now methane...

Actually, farts consist only up to 5-10% methane, the rest is mostly nitrogen and hydrogen, with small amounts of oxygen (just like air). These are actually all quite odourless too unless you've eaten something special or have some condition.

Just a reminder; walls, platform and trucks do not provide any protection.

i think it's stems originally from The Sims 2, where NPC's with bad hygiene will have a bad odor and green-yellow "smoke" or "fart" trails following them.

How it ended up here i dunno, but i think that's the origin.

But what if its alien methane. :3

Then it would be colorless, odorless, alien methane. Duh. :/

How would you know? Have you ever seen alien methane? Clearly materials work differently on this alien planet given that uranium is way more deadly than the uranuim we have on eath. So alien uranium = super duper radioactive and alien methane might be a spooky alien green color because of uh... tachyon particles or something. XD

How do you know it's the uranium that's more deadly and not the pioneer who is more sensitive to it? ((⇀‸↼))

Because engineers on earth are not as sensetive to uranium... oh wait I forgot we cant use earth as a reference. :3

Why not? It's in this game's universe.

Because if earth standards apply then Satisfactory uranium doesnt work like earth uranium and thus Satisfactory methane is by the same standard not obliged to confirm to earth parameters for other things as well, for example methane. ;)

Now i'm even more curious. Except for its acute and extreme toxicity to the pioneer, how is it different?

Who knows. Changing just a single characteristic of a material is huge (if you ask the right kind of scientist about it). Perhaps its more radioactive, perhaps its normally radioactive but some imperceptible life form is surfing on the radiation and making it more deadly, perhaps the uranium in satisfactory has the exact same properties as uranium on earth and there is nothing weird about the engineer either, but a bunch of mischevious aliens nearby are blasting our engineers with energy weapons whenever we go near the uranium as a prank?
