Half wide foundations, cat walks and soo on?

Are there any of these i said in the title ingame? Im regularly running into issues where i need half wide parts so it looks good but i cant find anything that looks like that.

To unlock items in the awesome shop you need tickets from the awesome sink

In the Awesome shop, once you have unlocked it, you can find catwalks. While there are no half foundations, you can make something similar. The catwalks clip onto several locations on the side of a foundation, so if you clip a catwalk onto a foundation, you then clip another foundation in such a way that it moves it over half a space. Then you can place more foundations, even if they clip into other foundations. So while you can't do a half foundation, you can do something 1.5 foundations wide.

Catwalks themselves are also a half-foundation wide.

Another useful chop catwalks enable is easily shifting foundations by 1m.

When snapping a foundation to a catwalk, it snaps at 2m intervals. But, walls snap at 1m intervals. And foundations can be snapped to walls.

So, just use the catwalk to shift a temporary wall wherever you want the new foundation, then build the foundation off that wall.

Okay a minor correction but i need the items in the title half wide. I may wrote it wrong but i already have the catwalks unlocked i just need them even less wide.

Also catwalks doesnt seem to be only half wide more like 2/3 of a foundation.

This game sorta has a fixed resolution for building. Any finer and performance would tank. The smallest unit for building is the 81 points on a foundation piece or the 1/4 foundation sized catwalks 2 catwalks = 1/2 foundation but cant be built upon so u need to place foundation in order to anchor the catwalks to the game world. I find myself repeating the process of placing foundation then catwalk to get a good alignment of something deleting the catwalk and placing another foundation in the correctly aligned place.

Ohh.. so if i want to have a neat factory i must account in the wide spaces left between buildings. I guess there goes my factorio "as small as possible" practice.

You don't need space.

But it helps.

When making neighbor factories as separate buildings, I decide the footprint (say 5x5), and then add 2 to all sides (9x9). The 7x7 is for belts and catwalks. The 9x9 is simply clearance.
