Linking to Epic

For some weird reason i have to link this game to an epic account before i can play? Seems strange but alright, whatevs. However, every time i try to do this it crashes. Sometimes locking up my entire PC. Tried this half a dozen times.

Generally, you don't need to link your Epic Games Account to be able to play the Steam version. I personally don't even have an Epic Games Account.

However, to be able to play online in Satisfactory you will need to connect to EOS (Epic Online Services) either by using your public Steam ID, or optionally share the EOS connection between your Steam ID and Epic Games Account. As long as you don't want to play online/multiplayer you are not required to link any accounts or enable the EOS.

Regarding the crashes, please post the Error Message and Log here. I never heard of a crash related to linking the accounts.

Hi and thank you. I get a pop up on game start to choose one of two options to link with epic. Whatever i choose it locks up completely. The only pop up i have had is: https://ibb.co/DMZGC0t

Verify the integrity of the game files.

Edit: And also make sure your Anti-Virus Software is not blocking any files or .exe's.

I've told the AV to ignore it completely and verified files. It re-downloaded one file but now hangs before even getting to the mandatory epic selection screen. Thanks, for trying. Think im giving up at this point though!

One last thing you could try is to make a fresh reinstall. After uninstalling the game on Steam, delete eventually remaining files manually.

Your PC meets the minimum requirements and you do not use mods, right?

Fresh install, no mods, PC well above specifications. Ill give a fresh install a go. Thank you.

Still the same my mate. No worries, i appreciate the assistance. The small amount of time i had to play games has elapsed now! :D

Maybe someone else has other ideas how to fix the crashes. I'm not the best at troubleshooting anyway, at least I tried. Have a nice day!
