has there been any consideration of adding an altimeter, or is there a mod to add this?
It would be really nice to know a platform that i'm building is at the same height as another off in the distance, if i want to connect them.

I have that issue sometimes too. It would be nice, but when push comes to shove I'll use foundations to level things out. It works...most of the time.

I do this as well, the problem comes when you then find as it stretches out you misjudged how high to make it so you get like 1 tiny bump that sticks out of the floor, so you then need to either move up a level from there, or have a weird bump you cover up somehow.

If you line your foundations to the world grid, you'll at least only be one ramp off from fixing it.

Altimeter would be useful for fuel headlift stuff though.

This is the way to build your own altimeter.

If you load your save file into the interactive map at satisfactory-calculator.com you can hover over a foundation piece and it will tell you the altitude. It doesn't do that for map features, so to clear an obstruction you'd need to place a foundation piece that was high enough and check it's altitude -- then you'll know how high to make other ones that need to clear the obstacle. It can be a little tedious loading save files several times to check altitudes, but sometimes it's still faster than building foundation bridges all over the map.
