How do I change the sorting order in the crafting menus?
I don't know what happened and how I did it, but the drop down category headers in my craft bench menu have been rearranged/scrambled. Now the most commonly crafted items (i.e. ingots) are at the bottom and the not-so-commonly-crafted items are at the top. How do I change/rearrange them?

You don't.
It is a bug.
There is no cause and no (in-game) solution, it just happens, and later fixes itself.

If it bothers you that much, reloading the game usually fixes it.

had this happen to me. If I reinstall the game I assume it will fix the issue but if I copy in my save files to continue on with my current game will this break it again being the save is from when it is broken???

You just quoted the post with your answer in it. Maybe read what you quoted?
depends if its the savegame itself or something else that is broken.

No I didn't he said it it reloading the game USUALLY fixes it but he didn't mention anything about the save files or what would happen when the save files were readded the the games folder and then loaded again.

Gordon though I think has a more appropriate answer which in a way isn't an answer but a valid opinion as would depend if the save file itself contains the flaw when it saves the game.

Still might give it a try just hope nothing else breaks and have to restart all over again!
