How to automate a truck?
I can start recording a path between two truck stations. For a long time it says "Close the loop to finish recording" I can even finish the loop, at least it says so. But how to save the recording? I can load new paths in the record menu (all empty) or can cancel the recording. But saving seems not to be possible.

I also have no idea how to save a path. I just start recording, drive to one station, drive back, close the loop, it says "path recorded" and then I enable auto pilot and the truck uses my path.

But I don't know how to save it or use another one.

I think this might be bugged. I've twice recorded a successful loop and the game confirms it's recorded, but I can't save it, and even though I set autopilot to start, the truck does nothing and the path nodes have vanished. I'm playing on Experimental with a handful of (non-transport-related) mods.

Automating vehicles is very easy, just record the route and close the loop, remove any extra nodes, and turn on autopilot. I don't know how to save routes to put multiple vehicles on it though, but I have two trucks on completely different routes working perfectly (one on easy terrain between my main base and quickwire production, the other between my main base and steel ingot production (that one needed a couple of ramps).

You have to stop the recording before you can save it right? Is that the problem?

You can save/load from the recording menu (Q key) while in a vehicle, or with the R/V keys.
